Hi I'm Lurlene Gutke.

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Blanding, Utah.

About Me

I graduated from Utah State University, served a mission in New Zealand, then married my sweetheart, Dennis. We have six children and twenty three grandchildren. I taught elementary school for 32 years. I love children, reading, gardening, cooking and shopping at thrift stores. I love decorating rooms with new found treasures. I love teaching. I love learning new things. I enjoy being with people and sharing our home with others. I feel very blessed to have good health, a happy attitude and a love of life. My blessings are too many to count.

Why I am a Mormon

I feel extremely blessed to know my Savior and His love for all of us. He is always there to guide us if we will only ask and listen. When I am discouraged or frustrated with events and circumstances of my life it doesn't take long to realize that trials help us to grow and that we are given opportunities to lift ourselves and others as we face and overcome our difficulties. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives us a way of life that we can find in no other place. It keeps us safe as we live its principles. I appreciate prayer and the ability to build a peaceful relationship with my brother, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Serving others and learning and applying principles of truth bring me happiness. I have much to be thankful for and much to become better at. This is what I like about our faith in the Lord. He knows us, He loves us and He guides us in our desires to do and to be good.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Lurlene Gutke.
I believe that God is our personal father, that Jesus Christ is His son, and that the Holy Ghost is the third member of the Godhead. We are children of our Father in Heaven and He loves us. We have the opportunity to grow and become like Him. Just as Jesus came to the earth to fulfill His mission, I believe I have a purpose in life as well. My most important role on this earth is that of a mother and grandmother. My faith in the Savior gives me the support and knowledge that I need to be the best person I can each day. My children and grandchildren look to me and their father and grandfather as examples. We have the privilege and obligation to teach them to love one another, to support one another and to help each other. Just as we want the best for our children, Heavenly Father wants the best for us. He is aware of us and will answer our prayers for our growth and development. I have faith that as I am obedient to God's commandments, I can be a support to my family as well. Show more Show less
