Hi I'm Dave

I grew up in Seattle. I love chocolate. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband (29 years) and father of three wonderful children; grandfather of two. From one perspective I could be considered a "boring tax accountant" because of my chosen profession. (We joke about that!) But I get my kicks from activities like white-water rafting, paragliding off Tiger Mountain, bungee jumping, and the like. I enjoy handyman projects around the home and the yard. I am finally making time to edit and convert about 100 hours of my family home videos onto DVD. I appreciate really good chocolate...lots of it! And I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings a great measure of happiness to my life. I understand the purpose of life and how I should live it. I feel of God's love for me. Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a commitment that I gladly make. A wholesome lifestyle is encouraged; one centered on the family, on self-reliance, and on service to others. And most-importantly, I desire to be a faithful disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. That is a lofty goal and I certainly come up short, but through study of the scriptures and prayer to my Heavenly Father I know in my mind and in my heart that I am at least pursuing the right path.

How I live my faith

The simple answer would be to say that I go to church on Sunday, and that I enjoy teaching and singing in the church choir. But there is more to it than that. It is really an every day thing. I try to be a good husband and father, to be a good example to other people, and to be a good citizen. I keep in mind the virtues that were taught by Jesus Christ and try to emulate them.
