Hi I'm Donna

Hi, I'm a native Californian and have lived there my whole life. I've been married for 30 years and have 2 sons and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a convert to the church. I was baptized at age 12. I am the 2nd child of four in my family (two girls and two boys). I'm a mom of two wonderful sons and a brand new daughter in law who I love dearly. I love to cook my ethnic foods (Spanish Food) and bake and decorate cakes. I love being creative and doing crafts like painting and Scrap Booking. I love to ride my bicycle with my husband and go out on date nights to the movies. I'm currently working with the youth in our church (the young women) and enjoy teaching them on Sundays at church. I love to teach cooking classes, reading scriptures, Camping and going to the gym everyday. I love working in the Scouting programs with my husband and am currently an editor for our Boy Scout Troop Committee newsletter. I love people. I love to meet new people, talk to people, and help them in anyway I can. I work cooking food for the homeless during the winter and serving at the armory.

Why I am a Mormon

At a very young age in my life I would attend church with my Father but never felt that it was right for me! I then started to go with my mom to her church which was the Mormom church and realized that there was a great message being taught here, a message of hope and happiness and a great plan that I new in my heart was true. I couldn't deny what I felt and knew at the time that Heavenly Father had a purpose for me in this life just as he has for each of his children here on this earth. I know I lived with him before I came to this earth and I chose to come down to this earth to gain a body and to have experiences in this life that I could never have learned If I would have remained living with him. I know that if I live my life the way he wants me to I can one day live with him again. Knowing this brings more joy to me than anything I've ever experienced in this lifetime. I know he sent his son, my Savior Jesus Christ to come forward in this life to Atone for the sins of this world and eventually gave his life freely and died for all of us. I know that he was resurrected and he lives! He lives! He lives and answers my prayers when I pray. He lives to comfort me when I'm feeling down! He helps me make important decisions in my life and guides me when I need his guidance. Most importantly he loves me and so does our Father in Heaven. I can't imagine living my life without the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Savior is truly my best friend and I owe him everything in this life. I am truly blessed to be a member of his church.

How I live my faith

I attend church each week on Sunday and on Tuesday evenings also. Tuesday evenings I work with the Young Women in our church, teaching them values to live by in this life and helping them to develop skills like cooking and crafts. They are a great group of young girls who are all very giving and I love being with them. They all have a unique set of qualities and when I teach them on Sundays during class I help them to understand that they are of great worth to our Heavenly Father. I also work with the Boy Scout program in our area with my husband and love being an editor for our Scout newsletter in our troop. I help out making dinners for those who are sick or who have just given birth to a new baby. I also help out and serve dinner at the Armory during the Winter months. I study Scriptures and pray everyday. I follow the Word of Wisdom which was given to us through our Proghet Joseph Smith, which is I eat healthy, exercise, I don't drink any Alcohol or smoke Cigarettes and I have never taken any experimental drugs. For this I'm blessed with a strong body and have never suffered from any drug addictions or Alcoholism. I love living my life as a Mormom women and have found great happiness in this life by doing so.
