Hi I'm Ana Maria

I'm a Mormon. Colombian, recent high school graduate, and a sister missionary called to serve in Ribeirão Preto,Brazil.

About Me

I'm a recent high school graduate trying to adapt to the "real world". I am a devoted daughter, loving friend, talkative stranger and a "church-oholic. I speak both English and Spanish but more fluent in Spanglish. I love spending time with my friends and family. I am an avid music lover, dreamer, book reader, singer, sports fan, and tech geek. I live my life to the fullest and carry a smile everywhere I go. Taking time off from college and about to serve a mission in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I Mormon? Why is the sky blue? Why is the grass green? Because it is; because I am. I know in my heart that the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints is the true church on this earth. Ever since I was a little girl in Bogota, Colombia I knew that what I was learning in my Sunday school was true. That the prophet (back then) Gordon B. Hinckley, was a true prophet of God. That temples are heavenly fathers greatest gift to the world and the most sacred places in the world. That the book of Mormon is another testimony of Jesus Christ and it as through Jesus Christ and the atonement we are able to live back with our heavenly father and our families. I don't know if this is making sense, (in my head it does) but I am Mormon, because it is what I am, who I am, what i believe in, what i know is true, and that it's the only way I can live through my day to day life. I would ask whoever is reading this to truly think about what the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints is and find out for themselves by praying what this church is all about. I promise you that by doing so you will get an answer. That's what I did and it is the reason why I am Mormon. I say this things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

The way that I live my faith is by being a ward missionary and soon to be full time missionary once I leave for my mission in March.Since I just graduated from the youth program I haven't had any "adult" callings yet but I did have a couple while in the youth program. I was what you would call the "VP" for the young woman program throughout my years in high school and helped out the girls in my ward with whatever they needed. I also planned out activities with the teachers and other "heads" for the girls to do and at times boys too. I also took part of organizing the church prom for the youth in NJ. It took a lot of work and effort but it was probably the best experience I had serving the youth. Recently, I volunteered to help those who were affected by hurricane Sandy through Mormon Helping Hands; the disaster relief organization that the church has. It was truly a humbling experience and a huge testimony builder.
