Hi I'm Jill

I grew up in Utah. I love to laugh. Dancing is in my blood, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student in Utah. I've been dancing my whole life and I love performing most of all, so that's what I do. Put me in a sparkly dress with my hair all done up and give me a stage and I'm in heaven. But my favorite part is being able to inspire others to live their own dreams. I believe that we all have talents and gifts, some of us have the gift of understanding others, others have the talent to lead. Whatever our gifts might be we're not meant to be shy with them. God gave us those talents for a reason. I'm also quite fond of my family. I have a big family and I like it that way. We're pretty loud when you get us all together, but that just makes it more fun! I know I can count on them for anything, especially a good laugh. People say "laughter is the best medicine", and I completely agree. Living life is always better with a smile on your face.

Why I am a Mormon

I know the Church of Jesus Christ has been restored in the Latter-days. We as members of the church are called saints because we follow Christ. I'm so grateful that we have a modern-day prophet who communes with God and tells us what we need right now, today. I know God is our loving Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ is His Son, and the Holy Ghost is a person of Spirit who touches our hearts. I pray every day because I know my Heavenly Father is listening. He knows me and He wants me to be happy. Life is not easy, but I know that there is a plan, and that if I am faithful I can live happily here on earth, and then live forever with my family and with God. For this purpose temples were also restored to the earth so we can be united with our families in a sacred ceremony called a sealing. I know that no matter what happens to someone in my family, I have hope through Christ's atoning sacrifice that I will be with them again. I love my Savior and I have promised to follow Him for the rest of my days. I want to be an example of the believers and share my testimony with any who will listen. (1 Tim 4:12), (3 Nephi 5:13)

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by reading my scriptures. It keeps me grounded to what's most important, like my family and my faith. I study both the Bible and the Book of Mormon because I know they are both God's word. The Book of Mormon is another ancient record of people who lived between 600BC and 400AD. They wrote for our day. So every time I read from it I feel God's love and I learn what I need to do to return to Him. I served a volunteer mission at Temple Square in Salt Lake City for 18 months. It was the best time for me to prepare for the rest of my life. It gave me confidence and a deeper connection to my faith. I was able to meet thousands of people from all over the world and see them as I know they are: God's children, and my brothers and sisters. In my congregation I have so many friends; it feels like a family because we all lift each other and watch out for one another. Going to church every single Sunday gives me renewed energy and strength to go throughout the rest of my week. I look forward to each Sunday when I can partake of the Sacrament(bread & water) and renew the promises I made when I was baptized, to remember my Savior every day and try to live more like Him.
