Hi I'm Katy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 22 year old college student almost done with my double bachelors in psychology and anthropology. Unfortunately I have had a lot of set backs with in this past year. Last fall I had knee surgery on my left knee for a torn lateral meniscus, and this fall I re-injured my left knee but also tore the right lateral meniscus as well and have to have surgery on both knees now. I have been seeing a Gastroenterologist to see why I have been feeling so sick all the time and have been being poked and prodded with all sorts of machines, CT scans, ultrasounds, hidascan. I guess they said I have sand? or sludge? in my gull bladder and cysts on my liver :/ (that to me doesn't sound very good) I will soon be meeting with a surgical consult to be considering taking out my gull bladder. Unfortunately that is not the end of my problems. :( I have been working backwards with, I guess I can call it my list of ailments. It is hard to stay positive at times when I have so many things baring down on me on the time, making me feel so horrible, & trying to send me into a dark place. In February I fell on the back of my head and neck in one of my dance classes while trying to do a jump. After Xrays, CT scans and even an MRI came back with nothing abnormal my doctor diagnosed my with Post Concussive Syndrome. I would black out some days and not remember conversations I had had, places I had been things I had done. It was so frustrating. But when I turned to the Lord, He helped me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was a convert when I was only 12 years old. I have 5 brothers and sister, my mother and step father. I was the only member in my family. I would walk every Sunday to one of my young women leader's house and we and her husband would all walk the remainder of the way together. This leader was very special to me. she would substitute as my "mom" when we were suppose to have mother/daughter activities and my own mother wouldn't come. It was difficult for me, of course, seeing everyone else with their mothers, but I knew that I must be the example for my own parents, though I was so young. At the age of 16 my parents were converted and baptized. It had taken 4 long, tedious years, but the effort I put forth in remaining true to the words of the Lord and following the Spirit my parent were able to follow my example.

How I live my faith

I kneel at my bedside, and raise my eyes to thee I lift my voice in uttered prayer I know thou lovest me. I open up my scriptures to the stories of old I share them with my brothern and teach them of what foretold. I sing and practice musically songs and hymns that please the Lord harmony and melody played together music ringing in one accord
