Hi I'm Kelly

I am a rancher is a small town in Idaho. I lov animals and life. Playing sports is my hobby. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 20 year old girl living in a small town in Idaho. I have lived in many different states, towns and cultures. I love playing every sports and i love challenging my abilities. Rodeo is my life, i live on my horse, and enjoy the sun almost as much as i enjoy sweets. I grew up as a mormon and was raise by amazing parents. Currently i am working at a therapy office working with children who need special help i their everyday needs. Last spring i worked at an orphanage is Xian, China. It was the best experience i have ever had. As of right now i am waiting for a missionary who is serving in Washington D.C. He is my pride and joy and i can not wait for the day he comes home. I love this church and am grateful for my family that loves me.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons why I am a Mormon. First i grew up in an LDS family, but everyone, even born into this gospel people have stories of how they grew there testimony. My conversion story happened when i turned 18. I always knew the church was true, but i never really had an struggles and i was never tested. Well when i was 18 I had some problems and i started not feeling the spirit and i felt dark and always angry. I didnt like how i felt, i didnt like the feeling that didnt make me happy. And one day i was thinking of why i was like this and i realized i hadnt said any prayers or prayed in over a month and so i sat down and i said a quick prayer to help me feel better. Well days and weeks went by and nothing reallt changed. Than during general converence President Bednar spoke abot love and happiness. and that talk blessed my whole life. I knew that Christ loved me and that He was proud of me for being strong. A couple weeks later, i met my amazing boy friend. and since that day i have been grateful. Because only through His chrch can i be with him forever, and there is nothing else in this world that i want more than to be with my family forever and ever. To be sealed in heaven and in earth and never have that connection broken. So by remembering that love, i stay true to myself and this church. For my family, for my children, for my God.

How I live my faith

In my church i am the stake activities chair. Which means i am in charge of all the singles adults 18-30 years of age. I am in charge of planning activities to bring our age groups together for eternal marriages and to feel inspired to do whats right. Sometimes the activities are very hard to organize because there is such a age gap between what some think is fun and others think is immature. So by having this calling i am responsible for feeling for ideas, like be creative in ideas i want others to come and attend. It has brought people to be married and it has brought people from barely coming to church to enjoying the gospel and the people around them. Vistiting teaching is hard to do. But wheni have done my visiting teaching i feel like my week has been great and that i have made someone smile. So i alwasy try to visit those sisters in my ward.

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

I heard a quote a while ago that explains this very well. "When you think of our bodies, think of a rose. Whenever something unclean (immoral) touches that rose, it starts to turn brown and the peddles fall off. Our God in Heaven wants His children to be beautiful like that perfect rose." So think of it as a rose. Wouldn't you want to always be bright red without any dirty spots or fallen peddles? Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

There are alot of things that tell me there is a God. Like looking around on a cool summer morning, mist falling around the trees. Another is seeing a new born baby, so small and sweet laying in your arms, or watching mr corn grow on our farm. Only God in heaven could create something so beautiful. No man or thing can creat something so natural and true. Show more Show less

Why did your church previously practice plural marriage (polygamy)?

When the church first started out, the men of alot of the women were asked to join the army to help fight the warm against mexico. Well alot of the women's spouses died in that battle. Alot of the women had children to feed and children to take care of. And doing that alone was very difficult, so the Prophet took and cared for many of the women and so did many men, not as "wives" but to care and protect them during those very hard times in the wilderness.
