Hi I'm Sage

I graduated from an ivy-league college, I love to run half marathons and bake, and I want to be a midwife one day. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated from an ivy-league college with a degree in Biology. I loved studying about how the human body works. The more I learn about science, the more I believe in God. The beautiful complexities and intricacies of our bodies and the earth can be explained no other way than through divine creation! I spent 3 months in Ghana working with midwives and a summer working with midwives at a birth center in Washington DC. I am passionate about midwifery and excited about the potential it has to do good for at-risk populations. I absolutely love running and have enjoyed participating in several half marathons.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Mormon church. I liked church, but I never felt convinced or converted. During my junior year of high school my parents stopped going to church. This was hard for me. After trying to go by myself, I stopped going to church too. When I arrived at college I decided to investigate Mormonism along with other religions, and decide what I really believed. After lots of prayer and careful thought I felt strongly that LDS church was where God wanted me to be. College was not easy for me. During my sophomore and junior years, I struggled with my stress, anxiety, feelings of inadequacy, and loneliness. I tried lots of things to pull myself out of depression, but nothing worked. It took me a while, but when I asked God for help He welcomed me with open arms, and I knew he had been patiently waiting for me all along. It was only through His help that I was able to slowly but surely turn my life around. I found complete, tangible, real healing in the Atonement of Jesus Christ Although this healing experience is a huge part of my faith, it is not the sole reason I believe that the LDS church is true. I have had multiple powerful spiritual experiences that completely override any doubts or questions I have. Although I don’t have all the answers, I now can say what I couldn’t before: I’m convinced of the truth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I strive to follow Christ in everything that I do and to develop Christlike attributes. I also seek to determine what God wants me to do, and then follow His will for me. I seek guidance in every decision I make through prayer. I strive to have a heart full of love for God and my fellow men always, and to let that love guide my every thought and action. Currently, I am serving as a missionary in California. I am striving to fully use every minute of this special time I have to serve God and the people here.
