Hi I'm Jessica

I love life! I am a daughter, a sister, and a friend. I am a Middle School English Teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated from college with a degree in English Teaching and am currently enjoying the adventure of my first year of teaching. I love learning and am so grateful for the education I have recieved and the things that I continue to learn each day. I am blessed to have a wonderful family, and they are my greatest friends. I am the oldest of five children, with three little sisters and one younger brother. I love them and strive to live my life to be a positive example for them. I love to read and carry a book with me wherever I go. I love watching sports and playing tennis any chance I get. I love to bake and hope one day to develop the chef skills of my incredible mother. I love to travel and see and learn of different places and people and I am fascinated by the history around us. My list of places to visit keeps getting longer! I strive to see the positive in each day, each person, and each lesson that I learn in life. I know that we are meant to be happy, and can be incredible happy in this life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have received answers to my prayers when I have sincerely asked the Lord to confirm to me if this church is true. I know that God lives and that he sent his son, Jesus Christ, to atone for us that we may return to live with him again. I know that my Father in Heaven is aware of me and has a plan for me. I have been fortunate to have had the church in my life my whole life. I feel fortunate this way because of the amount of peace and joy that the gospel brings into my life. My individual testimony of the truthfulness of this church did not come to me all at once, but rather over a period of time and experiences in which the spirit spoke to my heart, and it continues to grow daily. I have read the Book of Mormon multiple times and acted upon the promise given that if you pray with real intent the Lord will reveal the truthfulness of the book unto you, and the answer has come to me as a feeling in my heart and a feeling of peace, and an increased desire to do good. I have put the commandments to the test and witnessed the blessings that have come into my life by living them. I have seen the Lord's hand in my life daily, and recieved answers to my prayers. I see the good that comes from the church and know that it is led by inspired leaders acting on revelation from the Lord. The beautiful thing about a testimony is that it continues to grow--I continue to live the gospel so that I can feed my testimony and come to better understand my Savior and my mission here on Earth. I continue to live the gospel because it is the source of my joy. I continue to live the gospel because I want to serve my Savior and show my love for Him and his sacrifice by the way I live my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday. I live my faith by taking time to communicate with my Father in Heaven through prayer, and by striving to act upon the answers that He gives me. I live my faith by studying His word in the Bible, Book of Mormon, and the words of His living prophet and apostles. I live my faith in how I view myself and present myself. I live my faith in how I treat others. I know that we are each children of God and that we each are of great worth. I live my faith by giving service to those around me. I serve in my ward as a leader of the organization for women, by helping befriend the women in our area, organizing events, and giving service. I serve as a visiting teacher, in which I look out for and serve a group of women in our ward. I live my faith by being grateful for the blessings in my life and by remaining positive. I express gratitude to those who bless my life and to my Father in Heaven. I live my faith by smiling.
