Hi I'm Jessica

I'm a full-time BYU student. I'm an Elementary Education major. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah and have lived here all my life. I have always been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have been accepted into my major, which is Elementary Education. I am also minoring in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL K-12). My life motto is "Have I done any good?" I live my life to serve others, that is when I am happiest. I'm married to the sweetest man ever and he helps me to live my life to the fullest.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and made the decision when I was 8 years old to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have never looked back since. I know that I would not be as happy as I am now without the gospel. I can't help but smile as I read the Book of Mormon and hear the words of the prophets. This gospel brings peace and hope to me every day. Not one day passes that I do not see the hand of my Heavenly Father guiding and helping me. I am a Mormon because I want to live with my Heavenly Father again. I am a Mormon because I want to live with my family forever. I am a Mormon because I am not perfect and I need His help. His atonement allows me to repent and to come unto Him again. I am a Mormon because I do not want to fear. I know when I am obeying my Heavenly Father, He will protect me. I am a Mormon because I know that He loves me. I know that as I obey Him I draw closer unto Him and learn more about his infinite mercy and grace. I am a Mormon because I love my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the Holy Ghost. When I was baptized, worthy hands were placed upon my head. They conferred the Holy Ghost upon me and I strive daily to keep Him with me. I try to listen to every prompting I get and act quickly, regardless of what I feel is best. I serve in a calling in my ward. I live my faith by living like my Heavenly Father. When I was baptized, Jesus Christ's name was placed upon me. I never want to do anything that would blemish His perfect name. Because my Savior loves me and atoned for my sins, I will forever be grateful. I show my gratitude by living my faith. I live my faith in every action. I try to constantly remember I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father and let my reactions reflect that. My faith is also how I show my Heavenly Father I love Him and am willing to let His will be done, and not mine. I live my faith by constantly asking for guidance from the Holy Ghost and my Heavenly Father. Not a day passes that I do not read my scriptures or kneel down in prayer. I live my faith by simple actions and submitting to the will of the Father.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Jessica
Missionaries do not have to serve, but are encouraged to. There are so many blessings that come from serving the Lord solely for a period of time in your life. Personally, I am so grateful for the blessings I've received from my older sister who is on a mission. Missionaries are irreplaceable. The Savior has given us so much, that we should all take the time to give back. Show more Show less
