Hi I'm Daniel

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors. I have fond memories of going on a 50 mile backpacking trip each summer as I grew up. Since I have moved to Michigan from Wyoming I have only been on two. I moved here after college to work for GM as a car designer. In my job I get to help create the aesthetic vision of what the interiors will look like. It is a very exciting job, and I work with a lot of very nice and talented people.

Why I am a Mormon

I am glad to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) because of the teachings and the assignments and activities that help bring me closer to my Savior Jesus Christ. As I read the scriptures I see the qualities that Christ has and those are qualities that I want to develop in my own life. As I take advantage of service opportunity, such as serve others in my calling at church, distributing clothing or cleaning up the yard of a widow I feel closer to my Savior. Another thing that really touches me is the knowledge that I am a child of God. He knows me, he knew me before I came to earth. He has a plan and living on this earth and facing the challenges that I am facing is part of that challenge. Knowing the plan and the goal allows me to have hope even when things seem really bad and hopeless. I am glad that the Savior was resurrected and suffered for my sins so that I can be resurrected and so I can repent of my sins and return to live with my Father in Heaven again. I make mistakes and sin each day. Each day I am striving to be a better person. Being able to kneel in prayer and ask forgiveness and help so that I can do better the next day is vital to me. It is vital because my goal is to continue to develop and model my my character after that of the Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading my scriptures and saying my prayers daily. We meet as a family for family prayer and family scripture study daily. On Monday night we have a Family Home Evening with a game and a treat and a short lesson. We also share a talent or comment on something neat we saw another member of the family do. I always use that opportunity to complement my wife on her baking skills if she has made cookies.....I am hoping it develops into more cookies:) We also have a short lesson. Two of our little girls enjoy the night so much that they have asked us to do it twice a week....therefore on Friday night we do it again. I love being with my family, teaching and learning and loving. I have also been blessed to work with the youth in the church.
