Hi I'm Harrison Jones

I'm a writer, I'm a hiker, I'm a knight, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have grown up in the mountains of San Diego all my life, and have always had a love for the outdoors. Through recent years, i have developed a skill and passion for writing and story telling. Im fond of colder climates, rather than warm ones, and i tend to be a bit of a survivalist; taking five or ten mile hikes for no reason, and not taking very much with me. During this time, i tend to ponder over the stories i write, and the things that inspire me. A constant inspiration, is the Book of Mormon, and the stories it holds. The Gospel of Christ was not a key aspect of my life up until i was 16 or so, even though i was brought up in the church. My life took a turn once i was finishing high school and entering college, and I found that choosing who i associated with truly affected who i was. As such, i made difficult decisions to leave some friends and cling to others, and in the end, even switch colleges. As such, my life has changed from that of a troublesome teenager with no job or direction in life, to one that truly has progress and objectives in life. I truly know where i am going now, thanks to the guidance of Jesus Christ and the life he lived, and the example he was. I know, deep in my heart, that im on the right path. Without this Gospel, and without the simple bliss of it, i would be lost. Not only has it blessed my relationships and my family, it has helped me grow to be a stronger man. Faith, hope, charity, and love... No one should be without these things.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the LDS church, but never truly 'understood' what much of it meant until my teen years, when i started to find life had, and still has, many paths to walk. I chose the straight and narrow path, because every other path just seemed to go where i dint want to go, or it never made enough sense after the first few turns. every other path i found or tried, led to pain, sadness, or an unfulfilled heart, or a path too twisted to be anything more than a maze. This path, the path following in Christs footsteps, is not easy; dont get me wrong. It is difficult at times, but the joy and wonder of it, is undeniable. If you doubt me, you have yet to try it. Once you do, you will find that, with faith and charity, all things are possible. Give faith a chance, and take the first step. Pray.

How I live my faith

Just as Jesus Christ, i strive to always be an example of what i believe. I help others, often time with the spurr of a thought alone. I smile and do my best to love those around me. I exercise patience in tough times, and i am cautious of my language and thoughts towards others. I struggle with many atributes at times, but no one is perfect, save Christ. The best i can do through my life is always strive, day by day, to be better in some way, and to make someone else smile.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Harrison Jones
I do. His name is Tomas S Monson, and i believe that he is a great man, and he truly has the authority from God to watch over us and help us all be better people. Show more Show less
