Hi I'm Tavi Garcia

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Guadalajara move to the U.S. when i was 17 now i live in and are currently enroll @ BYU-Idaho

About Me

Hi my name isTavi. I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon) I work as a CNA at an assisting living. I love my job because of the opportunity of serving the elderly, and learning from their amazing stories. I'm currently living and attending college at BYU-Idaho University. My mom and dad are the parents of 10 children. Mom and dad went trough a painful divorce when I was 8 years old, there were 4 children at that time; mom and dad later re-married, dad had another 4 kids and mom had 2 more little boys. Going through that painful experience was one of the hardest things I ever experience, life was very difficult during that time; living with your grandparents or at times with only one parent is a wound that at times you might feel you could never recover from. One of the things I love the most about Rexburg Idaho is all the outdoors activities I get to enjoy here, during the summer I practically live out in the wild I love hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, mountain biking, skiing, swimming, shooting and anything in between. I love the out doors. The rest of the year I enjoy attending BYU-Idaho I feel so happy to have the opportunity to go to such an amazing school. After attending BYU-Idaho for about 2 years I was blessed to meet the women of my dreams whom I marry a year after I asked her out for the first time. She is the love of my life, I am crazy about her, she is the most incredible person i have ever met.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know with all of my heart, that the Lord Jesus Christ care so much for all of us, that He through divine authority and power, and through the prophet Joseph Smith, restore the fullness of His Gospel and this last days so that His children would never have to walk alone again. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is so beautiful, so real and powerful; it makes people happy it fills every broken heart with hope; I know it did for me, at a time in my life in which i could have not been more lost and confuse about my future, and what God expected from me. A time in which I was not sure if there was such a being who heard me when i knelt down in prayer, or who was aware of my personal needs as his child. I love the Gospel with all of my heart when the missionaries first came to my home in 2006 and brought the Gospel into my life, they gave me the greatest gift any man or women could possibly receive; it is true, it is felt and manifest in the lives of millions of latter day saints including mine. As we take the time to read the Book of Mormon, as we take the time to listen to our prophets, I give my word and my testimony that we will come to know the divinity, and in deed the very truthfulness of this marvelous and perfect Gospel who has blessed the lives of millions of people around the globe. I am a Mormon because I know with complete assurance that Christ is at the head of this church and of this Gospel, it is His church, it is His gospel. I know that He speaks his word to man today, and that these man hold the keys and the authority of God just as Peter and all the remainder of the apostles did who stood by Christ as he came to minister to mankind 2013 years ago. I love the Lord with all of my heart He is my Savior and my Redeemer, and I shall ever be grateful for given me the opportunity to find the Gospel at an age that was so crucial and so perfect for me and my family.

How I live my faith

The best way to live a christian life, is to always be willing to serve those around you. I can't tell you of any specific huge projects I've done in my life to demonstrate my Christianity, other than serving the community with things such as cleaning projects, or volunteering for Spanish English transitions, and volunteering helping people with English as their second language learn better English. I served a full time mission, and as a missionary I had the chance to do a lot of community service, as well as bringing some comfort and happiness to the poor and needy. I love spending time with friends and family it is by far the thing that I enjoy the most. I love doing small little things for them that I know they mean a lot; calling them or shooting them a text in times I know that they might be experiencing some tough moments. I believe a good christian is one who try to emulate the love and character of the Savior on a daily basis, you don't have to do something huge every day to demonstrate your love for the Savior, you just need to keep your eyes open for those with broken spirits and look for ways to lift them up, and help them walk towards the Savior that He may heal them; that's what I like to do, keep I smile in my face and take the time to get to know better the people I come in contact with every day, at work, at school, at the gym, or on my way back from school. If you are willing there is always someone who needs a bit of help, who God will trust to put him or her within your reach for you to share the reason of the hope within you; and that my friends I find is in itself an excellent service.
