Hi I'm Lisa Boyd

I was raised by a wonderful, Lebanese family. I am a convert to the church. I am a wife, a mom, a volunteer. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised by a wonderful, Lebanese, Catholic family. I graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2001, where I competed in Diving for 3 years. I worked in Marketing after college and met my future husband. After we were married, we lived in London, England for 1.5 years. We then moved to Santa Monica, CA for 3 years, and now reside in Palos Verdes. We have 2 children (4years old and 3). I am lucky enough to be able to stay at home with my children. I like to exercise, I LOVE to cook and bake, I love getting together with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the way it makes me feel! I was casually dating my future husband, Brad, because I was Catholic and he was Mormon and we knew that it just wouldn't work out. But we had so much fun hanging out together, that we kept seeing each other. One weekend his family came to visit and wanted to tour the Redlands Temple, which was scheduled to be dedicated a few weeks later. We didn't make it to the temple then, but I encouraged Brad to take me to tour the temple after they left. I felt the Spirit more strongly than I ever had before. I thought that there must be something special there since all I was doing was literally walking through this building. I was over come with emotion and decided that I needed to look into the church. I attempted to contact the missionaries 3 or 4 times without Brad knowing. Finally they were able to get in touch with me (my roommate at the time would turn them away and did not tell me that they came to visit) and I started learning about the church. I wanted this to be an unbiased decision, so I didn't tell Brad that I was investigating the church until a little later. A few months later, Brad was transferred to London, England for work. I decided that I had better figure out if this church was for me, because if it wasn't, then there was no need to draw out a long distance relationship for nothing. I gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the church, and decided to be baptized. I did most of this without Brad knowing, but finally decided to tell him that I had decided to be baptized 1 week before my set date. Since joining the church, I have been so happy! I have felt so much love and direction in my life. I love feeling the Spirit and seeing it guide my life. I only hope that I can be a better person every day. I am so grateful for the love and mercy I feel from my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I try to do what is right. I serve with the women in my ward, and absolutely love it! I love being able to help the wonderful women on an individual basis. I also love pooling all of our efforts together to help people in our community. I try to be a good example, help others, and be a good family member and friend.
