Hi I'm Amber

I'm a California girl. A wife and mother of 4. I am a child of God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I was born to good parents, the second of Twelve children. I have 4 sisters and seven brothers. We were taught to work and to share, to be considerate and kind, to love and to serve. We were taught by example. There was love in our home - and craziness and chaos - but mostly love and happiness. I can still recall the spirit of home and family. I am grateful to my parents for the sacrifices they have made for our family. We have had trials, and we have come through them with faith - and come through them stronger with the help of our Heavenly Father. I now have a family of my own. My husband and I were married and sealed for time and all eternity, in the Los Angeles temple. We now have four children - two sons and two daughters. We are grateful for the examples of our parents as we raise our family in the gospel, and help to teach them of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. We are grateful for opportunities to serve in the church and to help our friends and neighbors. The gospel is central to my life. It has shaped - and continues to shape the person I am.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised with the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. As a child I was taught the gospel, and I looked forward to the day I would be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I was baptized when I was eight years old, and it was one of the most special days of my life. I have gained a knowledge of our Heavenly Father’s plan and the role of our Savior, Jesus Christ, in it. The Holy Ghost has witnessed the truth unto me time and again. I feel my Savior’s loving arms around me when I am in need of comfort and strength. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. It has been restored to the Earth in these days. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, and that he saw our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. It is through him that the gospel was restored, and the priesthood was restored. He sacrificed all – even his own life to do the will of our Father. The prophet Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon from ancient records. It is another testament of Jesus Christ, and it contains the fullness of the gospel. I know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are the word of God. When we read the scriptures, we can know of our Heavenly Father’s love, and of his commandments and teachings. We are blessed to have a true and living prophet on the earth today that leads and guides us. We continue to receive revelation from our Father in Heaven through our prophet, and we are able to receive personal revelation and answers to our prayers. I know these things are true! The spirit witnesses it to me. I love the gospel. I love the church. I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to make good choices, and to follow the example of Jesus Christ. I attend church meetings regularly and hold callings in the church. I teach gospel lessons to the young children I serve, and I visit regularly with members of our ward family. I’m grateful for opportunities to serve my friends and neighbors. I have made covenants through baptism and in the Holy temple, and I strive daily to keep my covenants, and to be worthy of the blessings of my Heavenly Father. I keep the commandments and pay an honest tithe. I live worthy to attend the Holy temple – the house of the Lord. I read and listen to the scriptures, and the words of our living prophet and apostles, and I continually work at strengthening my testimony of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. As a family, we live our faith daily with prayer and scripture reading, and by serving one another. We hold regular family nights with gospel teaching and family fun. Everyday is a reminder of the blessings I have been given. I have gratitude in my heart for all I have, and for a loving Heavenly Father, and His son Jesus Christ.
