Hi I'm Bobby Burkey

I'm currently serving a mission in Wisconsin speaking Spanish. I love comic books. I love acting. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love acting. I have been acting for about eight years now. My favorite part about acting is doing live improv comedy. I have been performing regularly for about 7 years. At points we were even performing as a group twice a month. I love being funny and making people smile. I am also kind of a nerd. I love comic books of all types. Especially ones like Spider-man and the X-men. At the same time I am a big fan of things such as Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. You probably would never guess that by meeting me once, but all my good friends know that that is who I really am.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love it. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This Gospel has brought a joy to my life that I never had before. I feel like I have a purpose in life now. I feel like I have goals I want to acheive. Such goals are, for example, to try to be like Chirst by serving others in any way that I can. Sure, I'd love to share a Gospel message with them and invite them to church, but at the same time, if someone just needs help pulling weeds, I'd be there in a heartbeat. Living the Gospel is just as important as knowing the Gospel. I've been a member since I was 10 years old, but didn't become truly converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ until I was 19 years old. I was at a point when I wasn't feeling happy and needed something more. I had always been one to pray to God every night, and one night I was praying and received a mighty answer. I needed to change my life and who I was. I needed to start going to church again. I needed to start reading the scriptures again. I needed to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ. So I did. That was the most important choice of my life and I am glad I made the correct decision. My life has been blessed because of it and I now have a joy that I never had before. This Gospel brings real miracles into our lives. I love it.

How I live my faith

I love serving in the church. One of the things I really enjoy doing is called home teaching. This is where members teach other members of the ward at times other than being at church. We help them with anything they might need help with and also we get the opportunity to share a Gospel message with that family as well. I love this because I have to prepare a lesson to share with them. This just gives me yet another reason to read and study the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I read the scriptures everyday already, but having another reason besides my own is a blessing. Studying, knowing that someone else is going to benefit from my message, makes my study time even more effective. Having the opportunity to teach helps me to learn so much more about the Gospel and strengthen my own testimony. I love this Gospel and the opportunity to live it. And now I am currently serving a mission here in Wisconsin speaking the Spanish language! It is like home teaching to the max! We teach other people not of our faith the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how it can and will bless their lives. It is amazing the miracles we see when we help people come unto Christ and accept Him as their Lord and Savior.
