Hi I'm Katy

I'm a missionary. I'm always learning. I have an amazing family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently attending school at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I plan to apply to the nursing program after I return from an 18-month mission to Bangkok, Thailand. I love it here in Provo, but I definitely miss my family in Omaha, Nebraska. I have the best little brother in the entire world, and I look up to him more than anyone. My hobbies include cookie-baking, piano, singing, reading, and movie-watching. I like meeting new people, and I love to make them smile.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe in God and his son, Jesus Christ. I know that He has a plan for me, and I want to return and live with Him. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ is the best path to follow. Although some choices are hard to make, I always feel better when I know that I have done what God wants me to do. It gives a feeling of peace and security that is hard to find anywhere else. I also have a huge testimony of the divinity of families. Heavenly Father has given us families to help us return to live with him someday. My family is one of the biggest blessings in my life, and because of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I know that I can be with them forever.

How I live my faith

I try to make people happy. The purpose of our life here on Earth is to be happy. As 2nd Nephi 2:25 says, "Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy." I believe that one of the greatest gifts Heavenly Father has given us is the gift of agency, and I try to use mine to uplift others. Simple acts of service can make a big difference in someone's life.
