Hi I'm Arica

I work with children who have special needs. My family is everything to me. Nothing feels better than laughter. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an extrovert! I love getting to know new people and hearing others' stories. I have an obsession with paper products and can be found down the isle of your local office supply store. I really love creating useful things and making life more efficient. I grew up with my dad, mom, and three siblings. My dad was in the Air Force so that took us around the world for a couple years but once we settled down we went back to my dad's roots. I've lived in North Carolina for 19 years and plan to call it home for the rest of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the Mormon faith and have been very blessed to have this opportunity to live my life in these circumstances. It would be easy to say that I just believe because of the way my parents raised me. I can genuinely say that it might have been that way when I was a child, but since I was 15 I started down my own journey to know of these things for myself. I know that a testimony of these things come over years but in my prayer as a 15 year old I knew that this gospel was what I needed in my life. I think my testimony continued to grow over the years and I went on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This is where my testimony was sealed as something that I would never stray from! Teaching strengthened my understanding of the gospel and the reality of my Savior Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father. On more than one occasion I have felt Their love for me. I feel it when I attend the temple, where we can be sealed as a family in the life after. Two members of my family passed away before we thought they would. Those temple promises were put to the test when my father died. I felt an immense love for my Heavenly Father for allowing us to be together forever. Only about five years later my little brother passed away. This experience was probably one of the most difficult yet spiritual experiences of my life. I felt lifted through out the days following his passing. I felt Their love just as I can feel the love of any person around me, I wasn't alone. Jesus Christ remembered me in that time. Many people were place in my path that I needed and were answers to prayers. I know I will be with my father and brother again because of promises made between my family and the Lord Jesus Christ. I am Mormon because I know that through my personal promises made to God that He will always come through when I do my part...and He already has.

How I live my faith

It's a blessing to have the doctrine of the gospel in the palm of my hand so that I know the way I should strive to live my life. The best way to live my faith is by staying close to my Savior, Jesus Christ. When I fail to keep the commandments, because that is inevitable, I am able to look to Him and use His Atonement in my life. Living a Christ centered life is the best way to live. When He is in every thought and every decision then keeping the commandments or even wanting to keep the commandments becomes who you are not just something you do.
