Hi I'm Martha

I'm still a kid at heart. I chase my energetic youngest child around in public places and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My roots originally are from the Tonga Islands but the USA is the country that breed & raised me. I am a referee, enforcer, and cheerleader to my four children. I am almost like a single parent because my Husband works out-of-state 85% of the year. I lived in San Mateo, CA; Alta Loma, CA; Portland, OR; Reno, NV; and now Phoenix, AZ. I feel that I'm in a 50 year school plan because I'm still trying to get my BA. Hopefully I get mines before my kids get theirs.. lol. I'm stubborn, I have many flaws, I've made too many mistakes and I have an endless bucket list. I'm loved by those that matter most and raised by awesome Grandparents that provided for me in the beginning of my life, I'm grateful for my parents that instilled the gospel in me, my Uncle and Aunt that taught me to be independent and for their examples how to serve the Lord and teaching me a deeper understanding of the gospel. I love my family, religion, and heritage. When you know all three of those elements, that is when you will truly know me.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I BELIEVE! Although I was baptized at 8 years old, I did not really grow up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I lived with my maternal-grandparents up til' I was a teenager and from there I moved in with my parents for some time. Things were different when I moved in with my parents because I ended up going to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on a weekly basis and I started going to activities too. It was cool for a teenager because I was learning about the temptations out there at that time and how to prepare myself for them and I started to set standards for myself. I also started studying the scriptures at that time because I didn't know most of the stories like Daniel in the Lions Den or David and Goliath that well so after a lesson in Young Women/Sunday School I would go home and read about it so I can understand what the point of the lesson is all about. That is probably when my love for our Savior began and little by little I gained a testimony and there have been many incidents where I find myself falling to my knees and crying to Heavenly Father to help because I'm in a situation I don't want to be in - to - where should I go from here because I don't know which choice is the best choice. "Knock and ye shall receive; ask and it shall be given unto you." - Through many personal revelations, I cannot deny but know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the our Lord's restored church here on earth. The tears of joy and happiness I feel as being a member is too good to pass up or walk away from. I love the gospel and I love teaching it to 3 years old children because even their expressions are priceless. I have no doubts, but I am a firm believer.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by examples. I want my children to see when I serve others and the Lord we will be blessed with blessings we need and not what we want. I love being a Nursery Helper to 3 year old children at church because they're a lot of fun to be around and I love that I get to see their facial expression when they learned something that they think is cool. I also get to do visiting teaching, where I get to go and visit other sisters in my ward and get to know them and their families better. I feel blessed because I've been in the ward for less than a year and it's a great opportunity to not only serve others, but to build friendships too.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Martha
Yes I do! Amos 3:7 - "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." Just like the times of old, we have a living prophet here on earth today to help guide us and warn us of dangers in our current time. I'm grateful for the Prophets counsel and I encourage you to look up one of his talks and ponder and prayer about his message and see how it will change your life. Show more Show less
