Hi I'm Jeanne

I married my High School Sweetheart. I have 5 children, 2 girls and 3 boys and "I'm a Mormon."

About Me

My first love is my family - my husband, children and grandchildren. I have a great love for people and know that we are all God's children. I love to read the Bible and have a special love for the Book of Mormon. I love to read good books, write, sew, cook, paint, soap making, trying new things and being a friend. I write cooking articles for an online company, which helps keep my mind active. I have a passion for the importance of spending time together as a family and playing, praying, studying the scriptures and having family dinner together. In a world where we are all going so many directions, these activities keep us united as a family.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the age of 15. I was looking for truth and I asked God if there was something better in life than what I was seeing my friends do. I prayed that He would show me the way I should go. After two weeks of praying, two wonderful young men found and taught me Heavenly Father's plan. I was working for an elderly couple who had no children of their own. The missionaries knocked on their door. The Elderly couple were not interested, but one of the Missionaries asked if I would like to know more about the church and I did. I met with the missionaries the next day. I learned the "Plan" our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have for us. I learned of the Holy Ghost. I was so happy to learn these truths. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has given me the tools I need when life presents me with challenges. I have peace because I know that we are His children and He wants us to be happy. He has a plan for each of us. When life gives us challenges, He allows us to grow with His help. I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as it was in ancient times, was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know that God lives, that Jesus is the Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, and that we have modern day Prophets that lead and direct His Church upon the earth. Through answers to my personal prayers, I know these things are true!

How I live my faith

I have had many callings within the church. As a young mother, I served with the children and young women. I have served with the adult women of the church and have taught the adults in Sunday School. I have also served for several years with young single adults. I served as a PTA president while two of my children were in Junior High School and have been active at other times in PTA. This allowed me to see first hand what was happening in my children's classrooms. I have embarrassed them by singing a valentine song to them in front of their class. In spite of feeling a bit embarrassed, they knew the song was done in the spirit of fun and that I loved them. Our family spent three years in England while my husband served as a U.S. Air Force Pilot. This gave us opportunity to learn about another culture and to serve in the church overseas. I testify to you of the importance of having faith, hope and charity in this life. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches these principles. I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ expect us to be kind and loving to all His children. I know that we are all His sons and daughters. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, atoned for each of our pains, sins and sorrows. He has a plan for us and it is perfect!
