Hi I'm Steve

I am a grandfather, father, husband and professor. I love sports and comedies. I am a child of God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I really enjoy watching sports, reading, watching comedies, and traveling to visit family. My occupation is as a professor at a large university. I have always enjoyed learning and teaching, so being at a university keeps me doing both. As I am now considered a middle-aged person, I have new joy in life as a grandfather. There is nothing more precious than being with the grandkids who help me feel young and alive. Their innocence, kindess and honesty are great examples to me.

Why I am a Mormon

After several years of being very stubborn with regards to religious matters, and especially towards the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I decided it was time to really determine if what I was being taught was true. I humbled myself and prayed as best as I knew how to God to have him tell me if the the Church, the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith were what they espoused to be. After three days of prayers, I finally received an answer. The feelings and revelations I recieved were unmistakenly from God. I had never felt such joy and peace in my life as I did when I realized that God existed, he had heard my prayers, and he had actually answered them. Many times since I have received answers to many prayers about the teachings of the Church and they have led me to the sure knowledge that Jesus is the Christ, his kingdom is on earth as the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the Book of Mormon is the word of God, Joseph Smith was a prophet of God who restored the fullness of the Gospel to the earth, and God has a living prophet on the earth today. I can not deny these things and everything I have ever accomplished in my life and been blessed with comes from God and my decision to act upon the answers to my prayers. I have never once had any regrets for taking upon myself the name of Christ and being baptized into His Church. Life certainly has its challenges and sorrows, but having the fulness of the Gospel in my life helps keep all things in perspective and brings peace amidst the storms.

How I live my faith

I simply try to be the best disciple of Christ I can be each and every day. I try not to judge others, but rather see them for the son or daughter of God that they are. I try to follow the commandments and serve others as called upon or opportunities arise. One of the best ways I live my faith is by being a trustworthy and loving husband, a caring and available father and grandfather, a friend who listens, a colleague who supports others, and an engaged citizen in my community.
