Hi I'm Kay Larsen

I love to sing. I'm a fitness enthusiast. I'm excited to serve. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Washington state, western Washington to be specific (the good side). I love going to Seattle and exploring all of the amazing life there. Camping is a love hate relationship for me because I love to camp and see amazing sights and be with nature, but I hate not showering so I don't go as often as I'd like. I'm an Eagle Scout. I'm the second youngest of six kids. Like more and more people now, my parents are divorced, but before college I lived with my Mom and she's awesome. Speaking of college, I attended Brigham Young University for my freshman year and thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was there that I really developed my desire to go out on a mission. I'm serving in the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission!! I've been out a little bit and am excited to see where these two years will take me. I love singing and played in every talent show I could during High school and my love of hymns has increased so much now that it's my primary source of music! I love to exercise too. How I treat my body is so important to me and I hope to be a personal trainer down the road. I love serving and can't imagine doing anything else right now.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon is because I've taken the time to communicate with my Father in Heaven to know that he is there and is real. I've prayed and received answers that what we are doing is right and true and that Jesus atoned and died for us and that Joseph Smith restored Christ's church on this earth for our time. As I sincerely ask and pray and read, I feel the warmth that testifies of the truth of what we believe. It's like this blooming flower in my chest, but like a flaming flower. It's impossible to describe, but it lets me know that this is true. The church points us to do all things that are good and it's such a strength to me in everything that comes at me in life.

How I live my faith

When it comes to church, I try to attend my meetings, but not just to go and sleep (though that often wins out). I really do love the meetings though they can be long because some things are worth having to work on your attention span. I do my best in whatever tasks I'm assigned to and try to help those who are having a hard time with anything. What it comes down to is just trying to be like Jesus. Simple. As I went into the Missionary training center, I realized more just how vital it is to do all things to grow closer to Christ. As we read, pray, and search for answers, God gives them to us. By striving to be obedient, we really grow so much closer to the spirit. We just need to take the time for God to answer us and I think that's the biggest difficulty in this busy day and age.
