Hi I'm Jill

I'm a Mormon. I have been all my life. I have pioneer ancestors that crossed the plains and moved into the Salt Lake Valley.

About Me

I went to a small high school that did not have any other members of my faith. Sometimes it was hard to live my beliefs. I further went on to college where I met my husband and was married in the temple. We have 2 wonderful grown children, one of which is serving a mission in Nicaragua. I am so blessed to have an eternal family. I am grateful for missionary work that brings the full gospel to those who are waiting to hear it. My mother joined the church after being taught by missionaries. The gospel and the plan of happiness is just that - happiness! I have a wonderful life with a family that I love with all my heart.

Why I am a Mormon

I was not always obedient to the Lord's commandments, but I was taught the true gospel. By having this knowledge I knew that I could repent of past sins and be forgiven. Whenever I wasn't living a righteous life I was unhappy and depressed. There is great love and relief through repentance. It is a burden that is gone after repentance because of our Savior, Jesus Christ and His atonment. I am happy by living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have a wonderful family that I know I can be with even after this life. That is what motivates me to live as righteously as I can, so that I can be with my family and Heavenly Father again. Family is everything. I know that Jesus is the Christ and that he atoned for our sins. I also know that a loving Heavenly Father knows each of us - his children. He has a prophet on the earth today who leads and guides His church. I have a testimony of these things.

How I live my faith

I teach and lead the children in our ward. We teach basic gospel principles to children ages 3 through 11. It is such a blessing to be in the company of such sweet innocence. The Lord asked us to be like little children so that we would be teachable and humble. These children remind me every Sunday to be faithful and humble. They have such faith and love for our Savior. We sing church songs that also reiterate gospel principles. It is a sweet experience to hear children sing with such love and devotion. Each year we are involved in "Colorado Cares" which is an interfaith day of service, where by we collect food staples for the shelters. It is always a very successful community event. We also participate in "Project Linus". This event is where we make blankets for those in need. Service is a very big part of our lives and our faith. I always feel blessed to help others.
