Hi I'm Mike

I grew up in small-town Indiana. I'm an emergency medicine physician and father of seven. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I met during our freshman year of College. We married that summer and started our journey together and now, many years later, continue our venture with seven children aboard. In my free time, I enjoy woodworking, fast cars, watching movies, going out for food, and hanging out with the crew.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the church just before I was born. I, therefore, grew up in the church and had the opportunity to learn its teachings as a youth. I studied the scriptures, prayed and developed my own testimony. The reason I'm a mormon is because it is Christ's church. It's that simple.

How I live my faith

In the community, I volunteer at a food pantry. I also try to treat my patients the way God would have me do so. In a busy emergency department that is sometimes a challenge and I have my occasional failing. I always start each shift with a prayer that I can have guidance in the management of my patients. I strive to keep my communication clean and be a source of cheer for others. I strive to be calm and slow to anger in an environment that is often a little crazy. The church is a part of my daily life. I strive to read the scriptures and pray daily. I participate in Sunday meetings as well as serve in a leadership position. I strive to be a better person each day and to be of service to others. I am trying to be more like the saviour and I feel this is one of the most important things I should be working on.
