Hi I'm Daren

I'm a Mormon and currently live in Utah.

About Me

I am an outdoor enthusiast that enjoys having my kids go wherever the dirt trails and roads go. We like to hike and ride bikes throughout the Wasatch Mountain and really love the trails around Moab as well. I was in the military and served during Operation Desert Storm in the early 1990's.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church because of the core value in family. My baptism came when I was 12 yrs old. I decided to be baptized because my friends where mormon and they would tell me stories about their lives and how they were blessed. At that age it was a little less dramatic sounding, but, I liked how they would always get together as a family and I envied them. I have always struggled with living the gospel and am still scared of whether or not I can live up to the standards set by the church and its leadership. I believe in them and the truth of them. My conversion I would say is continual all be it slow. I am a descendent of the Prophet Wilford Woodruff and have looked into the history of my family and often wondered why my family chose to "fall-away" from the teachings and revelation of our own family member(s). I am not with 100% confidence of that answer. I am beginning to believe that through my testimony and conversion that I will begin to return my family to the teaching of the true gospel.

How I live my faith

I do not have a calling at this time, not because of an overlook by the ward. I have just not been the most active member, this I am currently working on changing. I do try to be active in my community and help others when I am available to do so. I have taught the youth groups in the past and organized events for the ward when asked.
