Hi I'm Wendy

I grew up in the Midwest. I am a Mother who is active in education, working at a school and serving in the PTCO. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am grateful that both of my parents instilled in me a great love of music. Music has such a power to heal, to inspire, and to lift your spirits. I have had the great opportunity to share that love of music through experiences serving as choir director to children and adults at church, singing at weddings, playing musical instruments such as the piano and bassoon, and performing in and directing various musical productions. I also have a great love of the Theatre, and have found that through acting in various roles, I have been able to obtain a better understanding of people around me. My greatest accomplishment in life has been being a Mother. I love my children so much, and my greatest joy comes from seeing them learn and grow.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have been a member my whole life, and through life experience, I have truly gained a personal testimony that this is the true church on the earth. I know that I am a daughter of a Heavenly Father who loves me. I know that His Son, Jesus Christ, is my Savior and Redeemer. Through His Atonement, I can return to live with my Heavenly Father after I leave this mortal existince. Because of this knowledge, I have a great testimony of Eternal families. My husband and I were married for time and all eternity in a Latter-day Saint Temple, and I know the covenants we made as a couple mean that our family is eternal. I also have a testimony of modern day revelation. Our Prophet speaks directly with our Heavenly Father, and he receives revelation in directing our church and it's affairs. I know that we can also individually receive personal revelation for our lives and our families, when we pray to our Heavenly Father for inspiration. I know that when I read the scriptures, attend church meetings, worship in the Temple and spend time with my family, that I can draw closer to my Savior. Following His example brings me the most happiness and JOY.

How I live my faith

One of the things I love most about church is that I can find people who share my common beliefs and have a testimony of the gospel wherever I have lived. I have had the great privelege of serving in leadership capacitities that have strengthened my testimony and given me the opportunity to magnify my talents and abilities. Currently, I am serving with a group of girls, from the ages of 8 to 11years, as an Activity Days leader. It is a fabulous organization in which the girls participate in activities that help them develop their talents, grow in understanding of the gospel, and in serving others. I am grateful to be able to work with these amazing and talented girls, and I find great happiness in helping them reach their goals! Another wonderful opportunity is serving the women in my church. I am grateful to be able to provide meals for sisters who have just had a surgery or a new baby! It has been such a blessing to see the outpouring of love I have received from other women in times of need, and that support system is invaluable! Visiting Teaching is one of the ways that I can serve the women in my church. I have a visiting teaching companion, and she and I visit three other women during each month. We get the unique opportunity to visit them in their homes, share a brief message from the gospel and meet any needs they may have. This strengthens friendships, brings us together with people we may not of otherwise been affiliated with, and gives us an opportunity to turn our hearts to others.
