Hi I'm Dan

I live in Loveland, CO. I am attending nursing school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 26 year old college student. I have been waiting to get into nursing school for 2 years and finally started the Fall 2011 semester. I have been married to my wonderful wife for almost 2 years now. I love to play basketball and play on a regular basis. I love spending time with my wife in whatever setting it may be.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have wonderful parents who taught we well in our home. When I was 14 I started to thinking about who I was and who I wanted to be. I realized that I did not like the person that I was becoming. So I started to make changes in my life to become a better person. This was also the time that I decided that I wanted to serve a mission for the Church once I graduated high school. I finally graduated and realized that I was getting close to the time when I could go on a mission; and I also realized that I still hadn't read the Book of Mormon for myself and prayed to know if it was true. During the summer between high school and my 19th birthday in December, I began reading and praying to know if the Book of Mormon was true. The summer started to come to and end and realized I hadn't received my answer yet. Once this thought entered my mind, Heavenly Father answered my prays. The simple thought came to my mind that was not my own, it was, "you know it's true". From that point on I knew the Book of Mormon was true, that the man who translated the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith Jr., was a prophet inspired by God, and that the Church that Joseph Smith restored on the earth, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, was God's true church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to follow Jesus Christ's example. One of the biggest things that I try to do is to stay away from judging others. I have had many experiences where I judged someone unfairly only to learn that they were in that circumstance for reasons beyond their control. I try to live my faith by serving others whenever I can, whether that be helping a neighbor, or helping a friend move, or even just a phone call to see how someone is doing. I also take time every month to meet certain families in the congregation to see how they are doing and provide them with any assitance that they may need. At church I have been called to serve with the men in our congregation. I help organize the individuals who visit other families, I am in charge of organizing the instructors for our meetings on sunday with the men.
