Hi I'm Emily

I am a missionary in Bulgaria!

About Me

For a year-and-a-half, I'm taking a break from University. I'm living the life-- living the dream -- the dream I've always wanted to live. I am a missionary! My family is the most important thing in the world to me. They are the best and give me motivation to serve and help other families find happiness. When I get back from Bulgaria, I'll finish up my undergraduate degree in biology (with an emphasis in neuroscience). I love learning! I can kiss my elbow, have stood on my head on the great wall of China, and love swimming the butterfly. I've worked as a TA, tour guide, smoothie maker, and hotel room cleaner... but the best job I've ever had is priceless. It's volunteer. It's being a missionary! I love swimming, ice-skating, and playing backyard soccer. I love music! I love learning languages, and I've fallen in love with studying Chinese. I love to laugh and have fun, and I'm always up for a good practical joke. My favorite food is an everything-bagel sandwich with cheddar cheese, ham, and spinach.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that Christ is our Savior. He loves us all individually. I've been very blessed to grow up in a family where faith is something that's been freely shared. I loved what I learned from my family, and I also really wanted to know for myself that it's true. Prayer is how I know of God's love for me. Prayer is how I know that He restored His Church again to the earth. Prayer is how I find my answers... directly from God. I know that He is always there, and that He is always listening. He's blessed me with a feeling of peace, warmth, and assurance that these things are truly true.

How I live my faith

I am so grateful to be a missionary, to share my faith every single day with every single person I meet.

What is faith?

Emily
Faith is what keeps me going. Faith isn't knowing what the future holds; it's knowing who holds the future. Faith is a hope, which leads to belief, trust, action, and joy. I don't know everything, but I know enough. I know that God lives, and that He loves every single one of His children. Just like a little seed, caring for our faith will help it grow. Just as silver requires buffing to stay shiny, faith requires work to get and stay strong. Trusting in God and following Him can and will change us as well as our reality. Show more Show less
