Hi I'm Lauren

I am a funny & sweet person. Easy to talk to if you need a friend. Oh and of course I am an LDS Mormon.

About Me

Well I have an interest of a bunch of things. I do like photography alot and I also had a thing in trying out learning to D.J a little bit. I also am planning to go to college. My favorite things are going shopping (of course because I am a girl!), cooking/baking, excercising, going out to do recreational stuff (e.g Rollercoasters, waterparks, swimming, bowling, inline skating, vacation spots, etc).

Why I am a Mormon

Let me start by saying that I was a investigator in other religions. I just didn't feel right when entering another church. I didn't feel the spirit with me. I then one hot afternoon saw these missionaries who I have been friends with since and they showed themselves to be full of the spirit. I then had that sudden urge to walk up to them and learn more about the mormon religion. I was only 9 at the time but I knew something was telling me to join the LDS church. I was baptised at 10 and ever since, been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My testimony is that without being a member of the church, I would of been worse off in life and that I would be a stray. I knew my Heavenly Father was watching over me that day that I wanted to know more about this wonderful religion. His church.

How I live my faith

Of course I continue to go to church, I also help out the community. Both big and little things like opening a door for the elderly or helping out the disabled. I do my very best to help out anybody of need that needs help. I also pray alot and read my scriptures everyday and everynight and the more I have done that, the more my spirit grew stronger along with my faith.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Lauren
As somebody with a disability, I am not required to go on a mission. I really wanted to but with my disability, I knew I couldn't handle it. It's perfectly ok to not go on a mission if you feel that you can't do so. You can still do missionary work at your hometown or anywhere your at by helping out the needy or little things like giving out a smile to those around you! Show more Show less

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Lauren
Some people believe we don't believe in Christ. Some believe that we believe in him but don't realize and don't care about his true power. As Mormon's, we believe that Jesus is the son of God and our savior who has died for everybody's sins. We believe his mission while on the earth and his teachings have made it possible to get back to our Father in Heaven. We believe that it's not enough to just believe that there is a savior, for we believe the church contains the fullness of the gospel and the plan of salvation, the information to be obedient and to not become decieved. We believe the Book of Mormon is just as important as the Bible and to be studied on a daily basis. We believe that he made the greatest sacrifices of them all. We believe that if we are faithful to the teachings of the fullness of the gospel and if you put all your faith in Christ, we will for sure make it back to our Heavenly Fathers Kingdom. What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Lauren
Theres alot of good that is done when you pay your tithing. When you pay your tithing, not only do you receive the blessings awaiting you but the people in desparate need recieve the help and care they need too! We are also able to build more temples, chapels and other church related buildings along with funding the missionary program so we can continue spreading the gospel with everybody, and many many more! Satan does NOT want us to pay tithing because he knows it does good things for people. Tithing is a commandment because you are supporting Heavenly Father's Kingdom and when you pay your tithing, you are obedient to your Father in Heaven and when you are obedient, you recieve the blessings awaiting you. What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Lauren
As human beings, we sin and make mistakes everyday. As people with flesh and bone, we have the natural man in us and it saids that the natural man is God's enemy. That does not mean we are automatically an enemy to our Heavenly Father because we have our spirits inside us as well and we all have that ability and opportunity to repent and try our best to never make those sins and major mistakes again. Jesus died for our sins because he and Heavenly Father wants ALL of us to come back home to him! Members or not, we are ALL his children! Without Jesus Atonement, we will not be able to return to our heavenly father because we would have not known what repentance is and we would be astray not knowing what we are doing is wrong!
