Hi I'm Russ

I'm a Mormon. I was born and raised in Las Vegas Nevada. I am the executive chairman of an international fire safety firm.

About Me

I grew up in Las Vegas Nevada and graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. I currently live in Mesa AZ with my wife of 37 years. We have 3 lovely daughters, 3 sons-in-law, and 11 grandchildren. I love the outdoors (hunting and fishing), history, travel, and have taken up the horrible game of golf. I travel extensively for my business and enjoy meeting people around the world. Oh, and I am big time Phoenix Suns (NBA) fan.

Why I am a Mormon

My lifelong membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has provided me with a foundation that has given me so much more in return for what it has requried of me. I have a testimony of the divinity of the Savior. I try to follow his example (although I often fall short) and I am the most happy when He is at the center of my thoughts and actions.

How I live my faith

Since the LDS church is a lay organization (no paid minitsry), it has provided me opportunities to serve others and to develop leadership skills that have enriched all parts of my life. I currently teach a Sunday School class for those who are investigating the church and its teachings or have recently joined. I thoroughly enjoy visiting members each month in my role as a "hometeacher." I am teamed up with a 18 year old young man (Tony) and it is rewarding to have a chance to mentor young members although I have learned more from Tony than he does from me.
