Hi I'm carson

I grew up in Fresno Ca. play/teach tennis. full time student, work. i love wolves and i'm now serving a mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

im 19 years old and have graduated high school. i am currently serving a mission and worked at a full detail car wash to earn money to do that. i also sold bikes gave private tennis lessons and did lawn jobs on the weekend to earn additional money. im going to college to get my degree in biology and want to be a dentist hopefully in my later years. i played tennis in high-school. i was on the bowling team i used to skateboard a lot and im a really active road biker now with all my friends. we like riding fixed gear bikes for tricks and transportation and love playing bike polo. i'm also a harry potter and the office pro. trivia isn't even a challenge.

Why I am a Mormon

i was raised in the church but i was never forced to do anything unless it was my choice to do so. my dad would teach me how i was supposed to behave and would give me direction on how i can make my life easier by following Christ's teachings and being more like him. my parents were very loving through out my life and gave me everything i needed to enjoy my high-school years and even the beginnings of my adult years. close people in my life who have chosen to do things that were not in the gospel teachings and chose to do things that later they had to pay consequences for. ive seen it all from drugs to addictions to immoral activities and personalities that ruin friendships. i guess you could say by the mistakes other people made around me i could see the consequences if i myself would make those choices and i didn't want to live in a life where my family was always fighting or i would have an addiction that i couldn't control and would harm myself and the people around me. i saw the blessings from following the gospel principles and teachings in the bible and the book of Mormon on a daily basis in my own family and in others around me. my family is not perfect but through this church and the book of Mormon and its teachings from Jesus Christ we have been able to experience joy and happiness that i want to have forever. i know this church is the true church. i know the message this gospel contains can help improve the quality of our lives. it has been the key to help us over come problems and challenges that not only we face but everyone faces.i know that the atonement is real and through it we can be healed from our mistakes and sins, to become more like Christ and be better people.i still make mistakes but i know i can be fully healed through the atonement of Jesus Christ if im willing to let him and do my part and take responsibility for my actions. i know he payed for my sins, but he didn't eliminate my agency or personal responsibility to become like him.

How I live my faith

i am currently serving a mission. helping people come unto christ by inviting them to read and find for themselves if the teachings in the book of mormon are true. i do communitty service once a week and strive to look for service oppertunities to help people anyway i can.

What is the First Vision?

The first vision is an event members of our church refer to from the Joseph smith account when he saw God our heavenly father and Jesus Christ. this doesn't mean literally that this was the first vision ever, but because of this event it brought about the restoration of Christs church that he established long ago and had been lost through the death of his apostles and misleadings of men. As a boy, Joseph Smith was surrounded by various churches which, though they disagreed with on another, each claimed to teach the truth. This caused him much serious reflection. He wanted to know which church was right. One day he read a passage in the Bible which says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” (James 1:5). Joseph decided to do exactly that In the spring of 1820, Joseph went to a grove of trees near his home and prayed to learn which church he should join. In answer to his prayer, Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to him, Joseph was told to join none of the churches that existed at that time as the priesthood authority and Church as Jesus Christ had organized it when He was on the earth had been lost over the centuries. Joseph Smith’s First Vision marked the beginning of the Restoration of Jesus Christ’s Church to the earth. Joseph’s written account of this event is a powerful testimony of what he saw and experienced. Show more Show less
