Hi I'm Rebecca

I'm just a small town girl; living in a peanut butter world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student surrounded by amazing people. I am always up for a game of soccer. I love eating watermelon right down to the rim, and enjoy getting as many different pieces of fabric that I can and making quilt collages. I find great beauty in the smell of the crisp mountain air along with the changing fall leaves. I thrive off of learning how things work and love being able to fix my car when it brakes down. I am planning on going into the medical field, and I spend most of my time laughing.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me so much joy I would not be able to live without it. I ache when I read stories of those who have suffered great lost and long to share with them the Atonement of Jesus Christ. It has sustained me through my trials and sorrows. The Atonement is the only thing that is constant in my life. I have come to trust my Savior and His love for me. He guides me daily. I rely on prayer and am so grateful I can communicate with Him. He lifts me up and allows me to see the beauty in every aspect of life, and I never want to leave Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in daily acts. Every day I strive to make my faith part of me. I want to reflect the Savior's love through my actions. I love reading talks, new and old, from lds.org and listening to the Prophet speak. I enjoy music greatly and participate in my ward choir. One of my favorite things to do in my spare time is to watch Mormon Messages on youtube. I love reading the scriptures and attending the temple. I am so grateful I have the opportunity to attend church meetings every Sunday. I also find great peace in serving those around me.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

God is in everything. I can see His hand in my life daily. One thing that confirms this to me is stoplights. I do not know how many green lights I have been given miraculously when I am running late, but they allow me to arrive just in time. I started noticing them after I would leave the temple to hurry to school. Time seems to slow down as I approached them confirming to me that God is in everything. It is through His mercy that I am given the ability to succeed even in tiny matters. I do not always get green lights. Sometimes I seem to hit every yellow light possible. Then I think what if I did make it through on that light and I got in a car accident? I might not know God's reasons for everything when they happen, but I know that God loves me and gives me the guidance I need when I need it. The key is to trust Him. When we trust Him, we come to know him and then we cannot help but notice the things that tell us there is a God. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the most glorious event in all of human history. It made it possible for all of God's children (everyone on the Earth today and who was on the Earth and who will be on the Earth) to repent, become better individuals, and return to the Lord's presence to live with Him again in Heaven. The Atonement is very personal. The Lord Jesus Christ suffered for all our pains and died for us. He has triumphed over the grave so we can live again. Through his Atonement we can repent but we can also be healed of all pains. He heals us of loneliness, of hate, of deep sorrow through His Atonement. It is power of change in our lives when we apply it. The Lord loves us more than we can comprehend and that is why he has given us this great gift; that is why He died for us. He knows and love us infinitely. Show more Show less
