Hi I'm Cris

I grew up in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio. I'm a father of 3, a mining engineer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a world traveler. My job as a mining engineer takes me to places all around the world. I like to play and coach soccer. I like listening to music, watching movies, and reading self-help books.

Why I am a Mormon

I had read a book, "Success: The Glenn BIand Method" and in it was written that I should have a developed spiritual aspect to my life. Well I had not been to any church or read the Bible so I determined to fill that void. I was at a nondenominational worship service when the speaker asked people to come forward if the Spirit moved them. I really felt the Spirit strongly. I went forward and after the service, I was told to get a Bible I could understand and find a church where I felt the Spirit so I obtained a Bible and started attending the only church I had ever been invited to: The Church of the Nazarene. After attending for a few weeks, I was walking through my apartment complex when I came across two young men who were picking up their bicycles. "Hi, what are you guys up to?" "Nothing. We were just visiting this person for an appointment to talk about our church but they weren’t home." "Why don’t you come by my place. I would like to hear about your church." "Sure." We set the appointment for the next day. There were 6 discussions to get through and I was at the end of the 2nd discussion when I was asked if I wanted to be baptized. "We’ve had two meetings so far and all I wanted to do was learn about your church. I haven’t learned that much yet so I don’t want to be baptized. In fact, if you bring it up again I’ll throw you out of here." "Fine." And we set the next appointment. After 3 months of investigating the church, I was baptized. I will never forget that beautiful day and the feelings I felt as my burdens were lifted from me when I came up out of the water.

How I live my faith

I attend church wherever I am in the worldand appreciate that the members are the same everywhere I go. Kind, loving and dedicated to the gospel of Jesus Christ. I serve my fellow members by monthly visiting several families that have been assigned to me to teach a gospel lesson. Over the years, I have had several different positions in the church. I have taught the children of the Ward, handled the finances, and been a counselor to the ward's bishop. I am honest and hard working and have goals of making a positive difference in my community.
