Hi I'm Michele

I am a wife, mother, sister, person who gets persuaded to watch dumb movies way too often, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Delaware and lived there until high school when we moved to Washington state, where I still live today. I grew up in a very loving home with my parents and 6 siblings. I have been married to my ambitious, adventurous, loving husband for 21 years. We have 4 great kids. Our family likes to learn to do new things together, watch super-hero movies, and spend time together. I have been a school teacher for 24 years. I have mostly taught fifth grade. My oldest son is currently serving a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints on the east coast of the United States.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) because the church gives me happiness and peace. I have studied the teachings of the restored gospel and know they are true. I have studied the Bible and the Book of Mormon and know they are the word of God. I have prayed earnestly and have received a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. I have found that my beliefs and the beliefs of many of my non-member friends are not that different. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches of a loving Heavenly Father who wants all of His children to be happy. He has not left us. He has provided a modern day prophet to lead and guide us. My mother recently died and this was a very hard loss for me because she was a big part of my life. I know that because of the Plan of Salvation, we can live together again, in heaven, as a family, and stand together for all time and eternity if we will follow the commandments. This has brought me an incredible amount of peace and comfort. I know that I can see my mother again.

How I live my faith

I try to be active in the community by helping with service projects and participating in community events. I also try to help my friends and neighbors. At school, I try to work hard, be responsible, set a good example and help my students realize and understand their ability and potential. I take my role as a wife, mother and sister very seriously because I believe the role I play in my family is very important. At church, I was involved in teaching the youth for many years, but now I teach monthly lessons to our service organization.
