Hi I'm Addison

I'm a Brother, Son, Disciple, Devoted to my family and I love the Gospel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy mountain biking, rock climbing, playing the piano, studying the Gospel, and learning all I can about life and the reason for existence. I've always been thirsty for knowledge and can spend hours perusing the shelves of a well stocked library. I enjoy physical exertion, especially when it comes to manual labor. I love digging holes and chopping wood. Along with the affinity I have for practical matters, I also enjoy creating things: I once made a "Newton's Cradle" out of yarn, cardboard, the legs of a plastic shelf, and golf balls.

Why I am a Mormon

I was, of course, born into the faith, but always harboured a desire to discover for myself whether or not the Gospel was "True". It took 15 years, and a really good experience at "Especially for Youth", but I discovered for myself that President Hinckley was a prophet, and everything fell into place. If he was, so then, was Joseph Smith. Then of course, it follows that the Book of Mormon is true. That foundation of faith has led me to be who I am, and dictates who I will be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by example. The best sermons are lived, not preached. I've also made it my own personal goal to have my own testimony of the Gospel. Along with scripture study, prayer, tithing, and Church Attendance, I strive to live the commandments so I can obey, be an example, and qualify for blessings.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

As missionaries, we are asked often if we're paid to serve. I enthusiastically tell them no, and explain how blessed I am to be able to "give" of my time and substance and dedicate it to building the Lord's kingdom. If it was paid, it wouldn't be Service. Show more Show less
