Hi I'm Jake

I'm a musician, a dad, and a Mormon.

About Me

I recently gradutated college graduate and work in custromer service for a health savings company. I became a dad not to long ago and could not be happier with my little growing family. I love watching basketball, playing the guitar and writing songs.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the simple yet deep happiness that the gospel has brought to my life. No matter where I am in life, that happiness has always been enough to coax me back to the straight and narrow, back to the Savior and his ever open arms. Jesus Christ is my Savior and has been a guide, a crutch and a cleanser to me in the exact ways I have needed, and continue to need. I have gained this faith and trust through experience, prayer and studying the holy scriptures, which includes The Book of Mormon. Making The Book of Mormon an important portion of my life is the only way I have ever been able to change anything about me for the better. There is no way that this could happen if it was not given to us through the divine origins that Joseph Smith claimed. I have tried, I have tested and have found the sweetness of the word. It is stronger than the sword or anything that can affect the human mind.

How I live my faith

I love to teach the gospel, if only for the fact that it brings me closer to the Lord and the subject matter. Thinking of how to explain the complexities of Jesus' sacrifice to a group of 5 year of boys, for example, has helped me realize the vast expanse that is our Savior's gospel and our need for the flashlight and map that prayer and the scriptures can be. While I do enjoy getting off topic, taking those dirt roads along the highway of gospel study, I am grateful that basics are laid out and simple enough for even someone like me to understand and love. I live my faith by trusting the Lord enough to value His word.
