Hi I'm Monibidor Alaowei Williams

I was born in Nigeria, I grew up there and had most of my education in the eastern part of Nigeria. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My hobbies are playing Football, soccer, racing (any type of it. Bring it on!! i just love the feeling of going really fast) and reading if i have to. I am interested in inventions and what can be invented in the nearest future and how i can be a part of it. Guess what Being a Mormon is my hobby too. I served as a missionary in the Virginia Richmond Mission of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter~Day Saints. Fun thing ;)

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to become a member of Christ's church in the year 2007 because I found out that it has the living Gospel. I read the Book of Mormon and found it to be the word of God so true in my heart. I have prayed to know of the truthfulness of the Book. I always thought that the Book of Mormon could not be the word of God but after I started reading it, I could feel the words in it speak to me and they became so special in my heart. I am Mormon today so I can serve others and try to be like Christ as much as I can right now and His grace is sufficient for me. I now know of the so many blessing that comes from living the Gospel of Christ as taught including Eternal life( life forever) with my family, Salvation of my ancestors who are long gone and never had the opportunity to learn of Christ, What a good news to me to know that they are learning of this same gospel wherever they are now. Temples on the earth today where sacred ordinances are performed for us and our dead, where we make more covenants with God just like in the time of Solomon and the Israelite as the Bible and Book of Mormon recorded. It is this good news that has brought light to my soul.

How I live my faith

I served a mission in the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints and is still striving to spread the Word of God to all those who will listen and also praying for those who aren't ready because finally everyone will hear. I strive to do very small and simple act of service on a daily basis. It is a way I express my gratitude to my Savior, a way I am serving Him because a scripture in the the Book Of Mormon says "..When we are in the service of our fellow men, we are only in the service of our God" and this also goes with a scripture in Bible that says " For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me". I try to follow the example of my Savior Jesus Christ in everything. He strengthens me to do so because after all I can do, it is by His grace I am saved.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Monibidor Alaowei Williams
The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is His word and it shows all that He did come to earth to die for us and came back to life after three days. He is the Son of God and our Savior. The Book of Mormon is a collection of the writings of prophets and record keepers of people that lived in the American continent. These prophets knew about Heavenly Father’s plan for His children and the mission of Jesus Christ. They recorded that Christ appeared, after His Resurrection, to the people in America, taught them His gospel, and formed His Church among them. The book contains the teachings of Jesus Christ, testifying of His love. It supports and verifies the Bible. Show more Show less

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Monibidor Alaowei Williams
some people do call Mormonism a cult because the religion is not a break off from the catholic or protestant churches. A cult in webster dictionary is a religion regarded as unorthodox. The “cult” label is usually applied by Church opponents attempting to criticize or discredit the Church. When one begin to realize the commonality of what The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints really teaches and believes. That Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that He is the Savior and Redeemer of the world whom we love and worship, then their opinion church begins to change for the better... Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Monibidor Alaowei Williams
This is called tithing. Its not so much a matter of money but it is a matter of faith. the scriptures say "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it".Malachi 3:10. Members are expected to pay 10 percent of their income to move forward the work of the Church. The remarkable and wonderful thing is that they do it because of their faith and the work does move forward. Show more Show less

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

Monibidor Alaowei Williams
As you learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ, you may experience feelings of peace, comfort, or happiness (Galatians 5:22).You are feeling the influence of the Holy Ghost telling you that what you are learning is true.If you have a desire to follow Christ’s teachings and obey His commandments, you are first encouraged to participate in a series of discussions that will introduce you to basic principles of His gospel. Then, when you are ready, you can become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by receiving the ordinance of baptism by immersion for the remission of sins by one having authority who after the baptism lays their hands upon your head, confirms you a member of the Church and then pronounces a blessing upon you that you may receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (see Acts 8:18-20). How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Monibidor Alaowei Williams
The Book of Mormon prophet Alma compared faith to a seed. If you plant a seed and nourish it, if it is a good seed it will grow and eventually bear fruit (Alma 32:28-43). It is the same with faith. If you are obedient to God’s commandments, study His word, and have a desire to believe in Christ, faith will grow inside of you. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Monibidor Alaowei Williams
“All things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth... and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator” (Book of Mormon, Alma 30:44). In addition to that, there is a secret something that whispers to me there is a God. This is the Holy Ghost. Have you ever had the feel that there is someone watching out for you, someone that really cares for you and loves you even if you don’t see that person? The funny thing is that you cannot fight that feeling away? I have. We all have had the knowledge about God because we were with him. We forgot this as we came into this world. Now the Spirit of God, that secret something whispers to all of us and brings that knowledge to our remembrance. The Holy Ghost tells me there is a God and is telling you right now.
