Hi I'm Courtney

I am a Mormon...by choice!

About Me

I am a mom and wife-the two greatest things I can be! My husband works really hard for our family so that I can stay home with our kids. I am so lucky to have four really great kids. We're far from perfect, sometimes we fight or forget appointments, my kids pick on each other and it makes me crazy; but at the end of the day, when we gather together for family prayer...all the cares of the world melt and for a few moments we have complete peace-and then a miracle happens-we all just stand around talking about our day and what tomorrow will bring, the funny thing that happened in school or whatever comes to mind. For me, this is the most precious time we have together! Dinner is hectic and someone complains about the food or the phone rings...but at night, standing around the kitchen, bowing our heads in prayer, we can feel the beautiful spirit that is always there, and it reminds me why I'm here and that I have been blessed to be part of an amazing group of people...my family!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but I wasn't truely converted until my early 20's. I had always believed the church was true, but I can't say that I KNEW it until later. When became a mom I knew that I wanted my family to be together forever. Everything I had been taught suddenly made since. I needed to set a really good example for my children, I wanted them to know why they were here, what their purpose was on the earth and that if they lived righteously we could return to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ again as a family. I know that we each have a very specific purpose here on earth, and Heavenly Father has given us each talents and strengths to help us as we journey through life. I want to help my children realize the gifts they have and help them live their lives so that they can return to live with Heavenly Father. I know this church is true and I know my Heavenly Father loves me and has a person interest in my successes and failures, I am his daughter and he wants me to be the best person I can be! I am so grateful for the gosple of Jesus Christ and for the personal relationship I have with Heavenly Father through prayer and scripture study. I know that my family can be together forever!

How I live my faith

I am so lucky to have the opportunity to serve with the youth in our area. I help plan activities and teach sunday lessons. I am so impressed with their courage to do what is right in a world where its cool to push the limits and live on the edge. I want to help them recognize that with living on the edge comes the anxiety and pressure of falling over. It is a constant battle for them! We have Wednesday night activities that bring them together for fun and fellowship, I have seen great friendships formed because of these activities. Having a friend who uplifts and encourages is so important for kids! I also am so blessed to have friends in the community who respect my beliefs and share blessings that come into their lives. I love that I can have really uplifting conversations about spritual topics, share joys and struggles that I have with great people who also love the Lord! Being kind, compassionate, and serving those around me...that's how I live my faith!
