Hi I'm Fred

I am a dad, a husband, a RN First Assistant, a proud American, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Dad and Husband first. I have been married for 11 years to my very lovely wife. She truly is the best friend I have ever had. We have 5 great children ranging in ages from 9 to 2 years old. They teach, amuse and frustrate me every day. For me my family comes first. Their happiness is number one in my book. Second is my job. I am an RN First Assistant (RNFA). As an RNFA I get to assist surgeons to provide their patients with safe, effective, efficient patient care. I love my job because I get to be right in the middle of the action, holding retractors, stopping bleeding, and just doing what needs to be done to make the surgery go smoothly. I have been very blessed to be able to work with many very talented doctors, nurses, Scrub techs, and support staff. In my spare time I like to watch TV, play video games, play sports, and do home improvements.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to a Father and Mother that were and are devout Mormons, but that is NOT why I am a Mormon. The teachings of the Mormon Church always made perfect sense to me growing up. I knew, as I do now, that obeying the “rules” of the Church would help me to lead a happy life. True as that may be having a happy life because you are following rules that make sense just wasn’t and isn’t enough to make me want to subscribe to any religion. I decided that just making sense to me was not enough that I decided to really find out if all of this stuff I had learned really came from God. The Mormon Church teaches many principles. The most important of which in my eyes is the principal of revelation. Please Read Mathew 16: 17-18 http://lds.org/scriptures/nt/matt/16?lang=eng The Mormon Church teaches that revelation is not reserved for the prophets of God. They teach that revelation can come directly to the member of the church. God answers prayers today. I can say with absolute certainty there is a God who loves and cares about us. I can say this because God revealed it, not just to the Bishop of my church, but directly to ME. I have never seen God or heard his voice, but I have felt His Spirit. His Spirit has confirmed to me what always made sense to me, and what I always thought to be true. Through the power of His Spirit I now KNOW it to be true. God speaks to a prophet today Thomas S. Monson is His prophet today just like Noah was his prophet in times of old. I know through the Spirit of God that this is Gods true church. I urge anyone who seeks the truth about God to explore the Mormon religion. You too will come to know these things are true if you truly try to find out for yourself. Have the Mormon missionaries come to your house and teach you about our beliefs. Read the Book of Mormon. Once you have done that, truly seeking the truth, pray to know if it’s true. If you do this you too will come to know these things are true.

How I live my faith

Those who know me best will tell you that by nature I am NOT a very serious person. I am all about having fun as much as possible. Church is not fun. But Church will lead you to TRUE happiness. Fun is more fun if you are truly happy. I pray to God every day. Not because I should, because I need to. I need to have Gods help, peace, knowledge, and forgiveness. I do my very best to obey the commandments that the Lord has given me. I go to Church every Sunday. I attend the Gods Temple. I read the scriptures. The Bible and the Book of Mormon. I think that the most important thing that I strive to do is to follow His Spirit. To try to have the Spirit guide me through my day. These things help me to be closer to God so that I can have true happiness. I don’t do them because their fun, I do them because they are right. Doing these things brings me a joy that I can not get anywhere else.
