Hi I'm Wayne

I'm a family man, doctor and a musician - living in Alberta Canada and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and father of five beautiful children. I'm in my thirties and loving life. We've lived in several homes and in the U.S. for school for a time but have come home and settled down. My family gives me a lot of joy and makes life especially worth living. I work as a family physician and enjoy caring for my patients in simple ways and at times in life-saving situations. It's a rewarding career and takes a lot of commitment. A large part of my life is music. I am a singer and songwriter and have released five inspirational albums sold around the world. I've performed at the Olympic games and have had my songs chosen in the church music submissions and performed on temple square. This continues to be a joy to me and a way that I share my testimony with others - through music. I served as a missionary in Salt Lake City (who would have guessed?) and loved it. It was a time when my entire focus and efforts were centered around the work of Christ and his gospel and I feel richly rewarded for the experience. I continue to serve in my local congregation.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a "Mormon" since day 1, but continue to grow in my testimony and appreciation of the truth of this gospel. There is so much that God wants to teach me and for me to experience and it's been a wonderful road. My belief that this church holds the truths originally established by the Savior himself had come over many years. I have had numerous experiences where the spirit has burned so strongly in my heart that I could not deny it. Following the commandments and serving God's children had allowed my faith and testimony to grow over the years. This is what Jesus refers to as the "fruits" of the gospel - the natural results of following the path that he wishes you to take. I am not a "convert" to the gospel in the sense of being a new member coming from a different background, but my conversion is equally as real and essential in my life. It's not easy to live a life of discipleship in today's world but it's totally worth it. I know God lives and want to stay close to him forever.

How I live my faith

As a disciple of Jesus Christ I try to live my life in the way that he showed. I enjoy being involved in service in the community and continue to function as a loving father and husband. I serve in my local congregation through working with the young men. This is a new assignment from my local leaders, who try to lead us through inspiration from God. I feel the great importance of helping guide teens through the difficult times and questions that arise for them. They are good kids and have a desire to do the right thing but always need a helping hand and a good role model. I also feel that it is my privilege to share the joy the gospel gives me and bless the lives of others.
