Hi I'm Tyson

I'm from Wyoming, I love the outdoors, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying Geology and Spanish. I served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in and around Lima, Peru. I enjoy all types of outdoor activities from fishing, hiking and camping to snowmobiling and horn-hunting. Some other hobbies include rock-hounding, watching movies, playing basketball, listening to country music, and shooting....basically anything outside and a few things inside.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church my whole life, but I'm a Mormon now because I know that God lives and loves me as his son. I know that He restored His church to the earth. I was taught my whole life about the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the prophet Joseph Smith, but it wasn't until I was about 17 years old that I actually went to my knees and asked for myself if the The Book of Mormon was true. Shortly after doing that, I received an answer from my loving Father in Heaven. Through the Holy Ghost He assured me that that book is true and that I was on the right path. Throughout my whole life I have found joy in the church, I go to church, read the scriptures, pray, listen to the living prophet, and keep the commandments because I can feel the love of God as I do it. I love my Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ and I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of all mankind because I have felt His love and the redeeming power of His atoning sacrifice in my own life.

How I live my faith

The way that I live my faith starts on a very simple level. I read everyday from the scriptures and the words of the living prophets. I communicate everyday to my loving Father in Heaven through prayer. I strive to live more and more like Jesus Christ everyday as I interact with those around me. I'm very far from perfect and have the beautiful opportunity to repent daily of my sins and shortcomings. I try my best to help those around me with anything that I can. I enjoy visiting and teaching other people, both members of the church and anyone else who is willing to listen.
