Hi I'm Peter Gallagher

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 54 yr. old father of 4 children, 2 girls, 2 boys. The oldest (daughter) is married, 2nd in grad school, 3rd getting ready to go on a mission, and 4th child(son), a freshman, going to BYU. I am an artist. At 28, I worked as an illustrator in NYC, for 3 years, early in my career, while serving as Bishop of the Rego Park Ward (Queens). Decided to shift my career and pursued a design focus in exhibit design, large corporate trade shows, museums, i.e. branding experiences. I have spent over 30 yrs designing experiential brand environments for Fortune 500 companies across the country. Lived and worked in LA, NY, SF, Cleveland, I now work and reside in Bay Area.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into the church, it was at some point in my formative years, when I had to make a conscious choice how I was going to live my life. My friends one by one were being called on a mission, and I was stalling, because I hadn't yet truly been converted, and hadn't read fully, the Book of Mormon. so as nearly all my buddies were out on their missions, I finally buckled down to learn for myself the promise in Moroni 10:3-5, and ask God if the things I was reading were true. I never had a vision or angelic visitation, but a gradual sense of comfort and peace that eventually, and powerfully confirmed to me that the words and principles behind them were from God and no man could have simply written the Book of Mormon on their own. This spiritual confirmation came to me as strong and 'tangible' as a sunrise; enlightening my understanding of God's love for me and all his children. This drove me to then desire to be the missionary I knew the Lord wanted me to be. I served 2 years in the Missouri, St. Louis Mission. I never have regretted my decision, although been tempted to stray many times, I find strength in my testimony of the Book of Mormon, and modern revelation and this helps me stay on my life's course

How I live my faith

After 4 years serving in the Bishopric of the local singles ward (congregation), I now serve in Primary (children's program) and keep busy painting portraits on the side. My sweet partner and wife has been a stay-home Mom, and now takes care of my young nephew during the day. She currently is the Primary chorister. Together, we have devoted our entire life serving in nearly every calling available in a ward/stake.
