Hi I'm Brandon

I grew up in Murray Utah. I was raised a member of the church by my parents. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a collage student majoring in Emergency Services Administration. I'm working towards becoming a paramedic and firefighter. A few months ago I returned from serving a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Thailand. Something I will never ever be able to forget. To put it simple I guess I am a single guy trying to make a name for himself in a large world.

Why I am a Mormon

Just because I was raised in the church doesn't necessarily mean that I believed it. Sure i went to church every week, I did all the activities that someone raised in the church was to do, and almost everyone I knew was a member of the Church but, that didn't persuade my mind in anyway. Actually I never really thought about why I went to church until I was 16. As I turned 16 and began increasing my friendships with people both Mormon and Non-Mormon I realized that I needed to either discover the Truth of the church and dedicate my life or stop wasting my time leave the church. So I started the formula that missionaries teach in order to prove the church is true or not. I read the Book of Mormon, for the first time by myself, I lived Christ's teaching, then I had to pray and ask God the Eternal Father if everything I was doing was true or not. It wasn't until I was 17 between my junior and senior year of high school that I got my answer. It was at a program call E.F.Y. that I revived any kind of answer. I don't know why it was there. I think maybe it was because the design of the week long program placed me in a spiritual range with God. The end of the week we had a Testimony meeting with the group of young people I was with. After listening to someone speak I had a feeling come over me that, felt like at first a small flame then it grew until every limb of my body was engulfed by this fire. Thoughts of sharing everything I knew about the gospel to everyone I knew flooded my mind. The impression of I need to serve a mission was imprinted on my mind that i couldn't forget it for a week. That was all I thought about. To that point of my life I had never had an experienced anything like it but, since then I have had several experiences close to it and watched others have the same experience. That built my testimony that everything I was raised in was true. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints is true.

How I live my faith

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I try my best to follow like Christ Teaching. Of course I'm not perfect but, I try to do the best I can according to the New Testament, Book of Mormon, and Other Church Teachings. I try to do my calling or assignment that I received from my ward, which is a member of the activities committee. Part of the assignment includes planing and participating in activities that will help both members and people who are not members of the Church get to know each other and develop friendships.
