Hi I'm Alyson

I'm a pre-nursing, college student. I love music. I love to smile. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small suburb just south of Denver. I spent all of my early years growing up next to the mountains. Kayaking, rafting, and rock climbing are just some of things that I have been able to experience while growing up so close to the mountains. Today, I am your typical college student; a pre-nursing major. Currently, I spend most of my time doing chemistry calculations, watching YouTube videos, and eating Ramen noodles. I absolutley love to do anything fun, crazy, or silly.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS church. For a long while, I myself didn't understand the standards of our church. I did what I was taught and knew to be right, but I didn't know why it was right. During my teenage years, there were multiple times when I found myself comptemplating the big questions in life like, who am I, why am I here, and where am I going? During those times, I struggled to understand what was so important about the standards and beliefs of my religion. Sometimes I saw those standards as burdens that were only making it harder for me to live a 'normal' teenage life. But then one night something amazing happened. One night, I found myself very distraught. I was anger and upset about a situation that had come up during the day and felt the most lonely I had ever felt before. I decided to give praying a try since I had not said a sincere prayer in quite some time. As I knelt down before my Heavenly Father and began uttering the words that were found deep within my soul, I felt His love. Quite literally, I felt it. The literal feeling of peace I felt is not comparable to anything. In that moment I knew that I was in fact a daughter of God. I knew that it didn't matter what my situation in life was because He would always be there for me. He loves me so much that He was willing to send His son to atone and then die for my personal sins. I am a Mormon because I know and understand the love that He has for me. I am Mormon because I love Him more than anything else in this world.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving in my congregation. Being in college, my congregation is full of all students. I serve in the women's organization and absolutely love it! I get to teach, counsel, and support all of the beautiful girls in my congregation that I have the wonderful privilege of associating with. Service is something that we, as members of the Mormon church really value. I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to serve those girls. And I love them all dearly.
