Hi I'm Maddy

I love traveling and cats and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a senior in high school and plan on Attending BYU-I next fall to major in Psychology. I plan on becoming a Clinical Neropsychologist. My default emotion is WAY to excited. My perfect day would be strolling around Pike's Place in Seattle. After school, you can either find me helping out in my schools drama department or at home jammin to Frank Sinatra. If I was stranded on a deserted island and could only take on thing with me I would take my cat.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've investigated it. I was born into the church, but every one is an investigator at some point in their life. We all have to take a step back and say, "Well, is this really true?" I had that moment in high school and into college. Once I really buckled down and sincerely tried to understand the gospel was when I gained a testimony. You can't tell someone how awesome the circus is without ever going to the circus. It's the same with the gospel. You can't have a testimony without experiencing the Holy Ghost. I invite those who are struggling or just learning about the church to sincerely ponder the teachings of the gospel, and above all, test them. Christ is bound when you obey him, and if you follow His commandments you WILL be blessed.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living by example, and I live my faith by love. I believe you can't truly be an example without outwardly expressing love, which is the basis of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It's doing the little things, saying hi to a homeless person on the street or helping your little sister out with their homework. It's by keeping people in your life that cultivate love and appreciation for one another. The best way to live your faith is to live by the Spirit. Remember, "Where the Spirit abides, despair subsides, and Christ can be your guide". There is no better life couch than Him. In order to achieve this you have to create an environment where the Holy Ghost can preside. This means discarding habits and trends, people and desires, that do not help us progress towards the Plan of Happiness. It's by doing all of this that we learn what "living your faith" is all about.
