Hi I'm Kody

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love spending time with family and friends! I try my best to lift and inspire others with laughter. There is no reason to waste time having a bad attitude. I enjoy skiing, water sports, exercising, learning new things, and just having fun! I am studying business management in college. I love life! I love Jesus Christ!

Why I am a Mormon

My life has not always been blessed with the gospel of Jesus Christ. My parents were divorced and after the death of my mother's second husband, she resorted to substances to help cope with her loss and depression. Our family fell apart. Those were dark days. Over time my mother got on her feet and we were reunited, but there was still something missing. We were not truly united as we constantly fought one with another. Jesus Christ was the lighthouse that guided us through the storm. The gospel brought the peace and love that we needed. We have been transformed by Christ. We are still far from perfect but that is what life is all about... striving to be like Jesus, to do as He did. What a great example He is for us. I love Jesus Christ and all He has done and does for me. He is my Savior. He is your Savior. Only in the gospel of Jesus Christ can you find TRUE joy.

How I live my faith

There are many temptations in this world and all they bring is guilt and shame. It is not worth it! Yet we are tempted by that short-lived pleasure. The lasting joy is worth the dedication to obey the commandments and abstain from sin. Jesus said that if we love Him we must keep His commandments. (John 14:15) This world is unsteady and the Gospel is firm and immovable. It may not be easy at times, but I have found that living your life according to the Gospel is so much easier than it is living by the standards of the world. Christ gives me strength to get through hard times and overcome temptation. A great blessing of Christ's church is that the congregation becomes your family. They truly love you, and are there to help you on your journey. At church I am strengthened by my fellow members of my congregation. I learn so much from them and I'm sure I teach them a few things here and there. I recently had the opportunity to teach a class at church. In my preparation of my lessons I learned so much myself. Having a duty in the church helps you to serve others and in the process yourself to become more Christlike. Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. He leads this church. Prayer and scripture study for me are what help me everyday to feel close to Him and feel His presence. As Nephi, a prophet from the Book of Mormon, said, "I glory in plainness, I glory in truth, I glory in my Jesus, for he hath redeemed my soul from hell." (2 Nephi 33:6)
