Hi I'm Heather

I am a wife, and a mother to four crazy boys. I love reading, running, and eating candied pecans. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom and I feel so fortunate to have a husband who supports me in staying home to raise our children! At the same time, I have come to realize that motherhood is not for whimps!! I have learned so much and have been humbled so much--I know that I am a better person because of my husband and my children. Little children, and babies in particular, hold a tender place in my heart. Their innocence and trust is something so precious. It is through being a parent that I have come to understand even a portion of the love our Heavenly Father has for each of his children. I feel humbled because at times I feel so far from Heavenly Father's perfection. But I know that he can help me when I don't know what to do.

Why I am a Mormon

My testimony of Jesus Christ, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, touches every aspect of my life. I have not always had a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the church. At times of struggle in my life, I would wonder why I had such hardships when I was trying to do the things that I should. I have come to realize that our loving Heavenly Father allows us to struggle even as we try to live lives of faith. He didn't say that things would be easy. It is during these times of struggle that our imperfections and weaknesses surface, and we can turn to the Saviour, Jesus Christ, to overcome our weaknesses. He allows us to struggle, but He will never leave us alone. He loves us, He knows us.

How I live my faith

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act, but a habit. Aristotle I don't claim to be an 'expert' at anything (except perhaps making a baby bottle at 2am). But as Aristotle says, I can achieve excellence in my faith by my daily choices. My relationship with my Savior and my Heavenly Father is deepened as I read my scriptures and ponder on their meaning for me. My love for my family is enriched as I serve them daily, and try to be a good neighbor and friend. My faith is strengthened as I attend my church meetings and hear of the faith and testimonies of those around me.
