Hi I'm Rebecca

I grew up in Oregon. I'm a mom of four, a fitness instructor, and I just finally graduated from college. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married over 30 years and have four grown children. I love learning, and just recently graduated from college after 8 years of online coursework! I also love fitness and helping others, especially older adults, to achieve and maintain healthy, fit bodies. I believe that the mind, body and spirit are all connected so my fitness classes are a way for me to connect with and help others to achieve a healthy, balanced life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS church and have loved the teachings of the Church all my life. But a life-changing experience when I was 18 years old cemented my love for Jesus Christ and my commitment to follow Him and His teachings. The gospel brings me so much joy and peace, even when life is tough and full of struggles. It can help me with my marriage, teach me how to be a better parent and friend, and gives me help in dealing with the vicissitudes of life. There are so many people that I know and love that would never have crossed my path if not for the Church. I love the association with people from all walks of life that believe as I do. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love each one of us, and that our sincere prayers are both heard and answered. I count my membership in this church as the greatest blessing I have, after my husband and children. It means everything to me.

How I live my faith

Serving in the Church is such a great way to serve others, and to develop skills and talents. I love music, and have been the music leader many times for Primary-aged children (3-11 years old). That is so fun! I have also had the chance to lead the music for the congregation as well as lead a church choir. No where else would I have had the chance to do all of these things and discover a talent in music. I've also been able to teach young children, teenagers, adult women and combined men and women. Having leadership responsibilities is another way I've discovered skills and talents I have. I love being a visiting teacher to three wonderful women that I now call friends. I try to live the gospel the best I can by serving in the church, praying daily, reading the scriptures daily, and sharing the gospel with others. It's a way of life for me and my family.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Rebecca
The family is the foundational unit of the gospel. All that we do in the Church is centered around helping families to be happy and to stay together, not only in this life, but in the life to come. Show more Show less
