Hi I'm Brooke

I am a mother of two baby boys. I'm a military wife. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Georgia as the oldest of six children. At times I was frustrated with all the kids around, but most of the time I have loved it. Now that I'm older, I cherish my siblings and am grateful to have so many. I went to a university and eventually graduated after changing my major five times. I guess I tried to study little of everything! A few years ago, I meet and married the man of my dreams. We meet at baggage claim in an airport. He asked for my number and I politely turned him down. After further conversation, he gave me his number. Several months later he proposed to me in that same spot at baggage claim. We now have two beautiful baby boys. My husband serves as an officer in the military and we live through the challenges of this transient lifestyle. We try to enjoy all the places we live and the many different people we meet, but I try and make it back to my home in the South as often as possible.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this faith, but I've been given many opportunities to change my mind. I have been blessed with peace and understanding in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that I have not found elsewhere. I've studied and attended other churches out of curiosity and I could not find all the answers in those churches which I have found in the gospel as taught in this faith. I served as a missionary and was able to witnesses the miracles this gospel brings to the lives of others. Out of all my challenges in life, motherhood is the most trying, but my faith in my Savior has given me the physical, mental and emotional strength motherhood demands. It's a miracle how much a mother can do on such little sleep!

How I live my faith

I serve as leader of a military spouse support organization and get to enjoy friendships with women who share different lifestyles than I. I may not share some drinks with them our take part in some forms of entertainment as they, but I do share tears when our husbands are gone and when life seems to overwhelm us. My understanding of my purpose in life helps me with my own challenges so I can then help others with theirs. I know I am married to my husband forever. I may be sharing him with my country now, but he is mine to keep for the rest of eternity, and knowing this takes the edge off our goodbyes. I also receive strength and guidance through the words of scriptures and modern-day prophets to help me know how to raise our little family.
