Hi I'm Courtney.

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Wife, singer, student, and entrepreneur. I was born and raised in the midwest where I was taught to respect your elders, appreciate beauty in nature, and appreciate your family. I love to make others laugh and I enjoy the humanities and religion. I grew up in a Christian home and was raised for half of my life by my wonderful mother and the other half by my loving father. My mother died in 1997 from lung cancer when I was only 13. That event changed my life forever. I am no stranger to challenges and I am not always the best to handle them, but at the end of the day, I know that the Lord is there. If there is one thing I've learned, it is that He will listen to us whenever we need him to and He will guide us when we ask Him to.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was inspired to be. I grew up in a different religion -- well, several different religions actually. I was always a curious person and I loved to ask questions. After being taken around to several different churches, I started to realize that so many people interpreted the same thing in several ways. When my mom died, I stopped going to church altogether. It wasn't until a few years later, when I felt this continued void and unhappiness in my life, that I needed to reach out to God again. The Lord guided me exactly where I needed to be and I became close friends with a one time not so close friend. She was a Mormon. I was curious. She didn't know I was searching for truth. I wanted to know which religion had the right answers -- which one was following the scriptures' teachings the way they were meant to be followed. Which religion was the one that Christ would say, "I lead this Church"? After learning more about the Mormons and their beliefs, I prayed again and asked if what I learned was true. I was overcome with joy and emotion. Tears streamed down my face...and it was then I realized, I had found it. I am a Mormon because it is the true church. It is the Church of Christ, restored to its fullness.

How I live my faith

Christ's example of love is my ultimate example -- and I do my very best to emulate the love he shows for others. I do not keep myself in a bubble surrounded by only those of my religion. Instead, I like to reach out and give love to people from all walks of life. It is my greatest joy in the gospel to show love to others.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Courtney.
Mormon women, from my experience, are some of the most compassionate, faithful, and loving women I know. Not to mention, many of them are very intelligent and have a strong desire to serve those around them. Most Mormon women desire motherhood and are nurturing in their natures. They dress modestly, smile often, and try to please the Lord and their families. Show more Show less
